Dog-Loving, Flexible, Outdoorsy, Centred, Friendly, Non-Smoker Needed. Luzern, 8 minutes from main station, 5 minute walk to the Lake of Lucerne.

    Greetings from Sunny Switzerland!

My name is Susana. I am a 50- year American whose been travelling since birth, literally:) I grew up in New York and lived in many places before calling Switzerland home almost 20 years ago. I now live in Canton Luzern with my 7+ year old Weimaraner, Fenrir. He’s a well-behaved snuggle-puss who likes nothing more than sitting with his people, going on long walks and getting his belly rubbed.

I work full-time, 2 days in office, 3 days home. In my spare time, I write, read, meditate and try to get to a Bikram class. I am a both certified Holistic Health and Ancestral Health coach, Mindfulness instructor, etc.

Because of my schedule, I am looking for kind-hearted, responsible, capable individuals who can help me take care of my dog, Fenrir (walk, feeding, cuddles), while I work and keeping the apartment clean. Note, my dog is a nearly 40kg clever Weimaraner, and needs a smart and experienced dog-person!

I like to surround myself with positive, centred, respectful people, who believe change starts within. Life is too short to deal with moaners and complainers!

If this sounds like you and you are looking for an opportunity to explore Switzerland, drop a line.

As a globetrotter myself, I have a lot of experience I can share with you, if you are interested to ask/listen. Also, as a foreigner who has lived, worked and made Switzerland home (and hopefully, will soon become a citizen...fingers crossed) and was part of a multi-cultural Swiss family for over a decade, I can offer a unique perspective of living in Switzerland and its history. If you are wanting to practice German we can do that too.

Your main task is dog sitting Fenrir. Generally, Fenrir goes on three walks a day, about an hour each. Or, two walks and play-date or a leash-free run in our town’s enclosed dog-park.

EXPERIENCE with DOGS is a MUST. At ~40kg, Fenrir is not a toy dog. People who can be gentle, kind yet firm are ideal. You'll fall in love with him, everyone does.

Other tasks, housekeeping, light shopping (if necessary).

    Females are preferred.

    Alojamiento

Your own room and guest bathroom with bath/shower. We share living room, kitchen and balcony. The apartment is close to public transportation, city centre, the lake of Luzern and myriad hiking trails. We get as many as 15 hours of sunshine in the summer months, 8-9 hours in winter.

    Food
I do have food allergies and I eat generally an ancestral food-style. I eat foods as close to natural as possible - so, virtually no pre-packaged processed foods, wheat or dairy. I won't hold anyone to eating my way. You are, however, welcome to eat with me or prepare your own meals with what's on hand. If you have dietary concerns, do let me know.

    Socializing
I am a fairly outgoing person and I love to exchange stories with the people I meet. It’s a wonderful way to see the world through another person’s eyes. I am not though a babysitter, nor an entertainer and silence is sometimes golden, especially after a long day. So, if I am not a chatty catty, take no offense, I am just taking much deserved me time. There is an expat centre in Luzern, which holds events and such.

    Travel
Public transportation is expensive. A day pass is ~13CHF a day within the Luzern Zone. Buses & train stops are 5 and 4 minutes away respectively. Very safe, reliable and runs like clockwork.

    The City
A tourist mega and cultural/music capital of Switzerland. A few minutes walk from the lake, one has access to public and private (at cost) bathing areas in the summer.

    Free time/Cost
Please be warned Switzerland is NOT cheap. However, if you are a nature lover there is plenty to do. Hiking, bathing by the lake, public pools galore, right from our doorstep. Luzern is the tourist capital of Switzerland, so there is plenty to do and see.

    Communication
For me communication is key to good relationships and a happy life. If something is wrong, please come and tell me. We can discuss whatever the issue is. This work both ways, if I am not happy with something, or if something is on my mind, I will tell you so.
