Nearly two months later and I am still reveling in my time with Rikki and Tiggs: two of the most passionate and kind and creative souls I’ve ever crossed paths with, I am so grateful to have experienced and engaged with their joy and their community firsthand.
Projects and activities varied on the day-to-day and I really thoroughly enjoyed the
… read more break from routine– really thoroughly enjoyed living (and loving) life alongside Rikki and Tiggs and the kids (absolute coolest on the planet hands down!!). I love St. Louis, and was granted ample time to explore spots both new and familiar (and meet up with/befriend local queer folks along the way!). Due to flexibility in my following hosts schedule, I was able to extend my stay by a couple days and tag along on one of the sweetest community camping times and float the most gorgeous river I’ve maybe ever seen?? (The Ozarks are NO joke you guys)
“Work”/skill highlights include: watering/weeding/mulching various areas of the garden, cutting/installing insulation panels, lending a hand in community foodshare time (what an amazing operation), helping build a bottle wall alongside Outdoor Youth Corp, and various other household chores!
Special special thanks (and all of my love) to Rikki, Tigs, Audrey, Lark, Frida, Nutmeg, Joan, Ashley, and Siriah (and each and every person who welcomed and included me whose names presently elude me).
See y'all again soon!! xoxoDejado por el anfitrión para el workawayer (Rebekah)
Milo is an incredible person all around, and excellent workawayer! They displayed confidence and a willingness to learn new things and try new projects. Milo had no problem jumping into whatever we were working on and engaging in projects both independently and as a team. The kids adored Milo and still talk about them all the time. It was amazing

Max was such a delight to have around! He has an all day bright, positive energy and enthusiasm for pretty much everything. He worked hard and did a great job with every project thrown his way and was helpful around the house in so many other ways - from helping with food share to playing Monopoly with the kids. Max did a superb job of going out

If you’re looking for a real Workaway experience with real people who full-fill the idea of what Workaway really is, this is the absolute perfect stay for it. Rikki and Tiggs are such beautiful, funny, warm and caring people. I stayed with them for 9 days and I learned so much. They included me into their project from day one! I helped with 5 Food

The food share is such a wonderful thing - to help with it and see the happiness in everyone’s face was the absolute best. The tiny house that they are building is just awesome. I helped building a trench for water pipes, also helped building a garden house, did some mulching and spend time with their wonderful kids. Tiggs and Rikki gave me the best tips for cool places in the city to visit. The list is endless and it’s so easy to explore everything by bike! On top of all that was the FOOD! I was literally flying in heaven when Rikki and Tiggs cooked. No restaurant needed, it is the absolute best. Thank you for the wonderful time, the long conversations, the bar nights, the many laughs, the cozy sitting by the fire place and just for being so hospitable! Can’t wait to see you again!!!Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

Finn is literally the best. They are hardworking, helpful, kind, and very funny. I had a marvelous time with Rikki and Tiggs this November. They are both endlessly interesting, wise and funny people with all sorts of cra z stories to tell. St Louis is a beautiful city-- in my free time I mostly just biked around and it was so lovely. The tiny house is a real labor of love and so many people have contributed to it. I'm grateful
… read more to be among those ranks now-- I met a wide range of wonderful people on account of being part of the tiny house universe for the short while I was. Frida the dog is a weirdo and a joy. And these guys can cook !!! Was totally spoiled as far as food is concerned. I will say that the bus is very cold in the winter but I was well warned about this and made my own decision to stay there when I did. Overall these guys rule-- I learned loads from them and miss them loads. so excited to visit next fall and see how everything has changed ! :)

Melody and Teel seem like wonderful people with great attitudes. When Tiggs came down with Covid, they were happy to switch gears to socially distanced projects. Thank you both for being so flexible! I hope you all come back so we can get to know each other more. Good luck on your travels!

Rikki and Tiggs were amazing hosts! Words aren’t enough to describe their kindness, vibrancy and inspiring way of life. Although we didn’t get to spend time with them for the first 3 days of our stay, they offered their home to us and we were able to cook some yummy meals using their food and kitchen. Once they got back we enjoyed conversation

Although we were sad to leave a day early because Tiggs got Covid, we were so grateful for how flexible and accommodating Rikki was to take care of us! Tiggs and Rikki have beautiful hearts and sharp minds and we feel so lucky to have spent time with them in their world here in St. Louis. Hope to come back someday!Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

We only got to stay with Rikki and Tiggs for about 4 days, but we learned so much during our time! Rikki and Tiggs both prepared some of the best food, and we also got a lot of time to see the city. We found their sustainable lifestyle really inspiring. They had a lot of knowledge about gardening, building, and also traveling. We would stay again
