Hi!
We (Robin, Anna and daughter Johanna (9) ) run a small estate and farm and are happy to host people who are interested in a cultural exchange. We have accommodation of course and between us are fluent in English and Latvian. French is pretty good too.
If you are looking for beautiful surroundings for your volunteering break - we could be just what you are looking for :)
We aren't a commercial farm and being permaculture, there is generally a range of different activities that need attention around the ground and farm.

Aside from polishing your language with us, we are connected with the local community. Whether it is traditional dance or singing, poetry or art, walking or cycling in the beautiful Latvian countryside - there are people to share with.

Tasks vary through the year and seasons. We have an estate based around a Manor House and a small permaculture farm, with fruit, vegetables, arable and bees - so there is always stuff to do :)
Workaway tell us we must say that workawayers won't be helping us with any kind of profitable activities - but farming hasn't really been profitable for a while... ;)

Our guest house has 8 modern and comfortable rooms with showers and lots of light.
We will make sure the fridge is well-stocked for when we aren't all eating together, so you will be well fed too!

Locally we have forest and lakes and we are a sociable family so you will likely be meeting other locals during your stay. Swimming in the lakes is normal if you like that and the sea is 30 minutes away in a car.
There are established cycle tracks very close to our estate and local horse-riding is available too.
Local buses can transport you to local towns - or further afield if you are the exploratory type!
