Descripción
Hi, we are collector Thanasis (Greek) and Jacquelien (Dutch) and we run a uniqueToy museum on the island Rhodes, just outside the village Archipoli. In the beautiful stone building, situated in the middle of the nature, we exhibit the history of the Greek toy from 1930 till 1990. In the basement there are international toys, but also a game room with vintage video games and pinballmachines where the visitors can play on. The museum is interactive, with a lot of interactive games, a treasure hunt, crafts for children etc. There is a giftshop and we offer coffee and soft drinks.
We live in the village Archipoli, and have two children, Nikolas and Ilia, who both study and work in the Netherlands at the moment. They will come in the summer to Rhodes though!
We use the museum also for cultural events like puppet theater, concerts etc, Also we offer a program for school classes. We are open daily (except Mondays) from the beginning of May till the end of October.

You will learn from the interaction with all the international visitors that visit our museum. You can learn also about the history from the Greek toys and culture. In generally you will see what it needs to run a museum.
By exploring the island you can experience the unique natural and archaeological environment of Rhodes, one of the most popular islands in Greece and worldwide.
Ayuda
We would like volunteers to help us in generally with running the museum. That means mainly to welcome and guide visitors/groups, help to keep the museum tidy, sometimes a little gardening and cleaning, and maybe help with organizing the toys, descriptions, new displays, social media, etc. We really appreciate your input and ideas as well!

Alojamiento
We offer accomodation with toilet/shower/possibility to cook/washing machine and wifi. You will usually cook for yourself, and sometimes we eat all together.

The museum is situated in beautiful nature, so perfect for hikes. The village is about 10 km from the sea. There are a few buses, but it's also easy for us to take you to the main road by car. We go often to Rhodes town, so then you can come with us if you like and do your own thing in town.
