  My wife and I have a beautiful home surrounded by rainforest near Uvita on Costa Rica’s southern Pacific coast. We are just a three-minute drive from Playa Hermosa, one of the area’s most popular and beautiful beaches. It is a wonderful place for surfing, bodysurfing, swimming, jogging, long beach walks, or simply relaxing and enjoying the natural surroundings. The growing town of Uvita is only about five minutes away, with restaurants, shops, supermarkets, cafés, and other conveniences.
  
  Our home has spectacular views and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. We are longtime music lovers, so the house has a classic-rock theme, with album covers and rock memorabilia displayed throughout. The property also includes a basketball half court and a pleasant walking and jogging trail that loops through the grounds. It is an ideal setting for travelers who enjoy nature, music, outdoor activities, and being close to both the beach and town while staying in a peaceful rainforest environment.
  
  We have no paid staff. The place is run by my wife and me. We open our home for one guest, who has the entire upstairs area to themself. With you as our guest, we are a total of three.

  Cultural exchange is one of the main reasons we are interested in hosting Workawayers. I am a professional vocalist and the owner of a successful musical group that has performed around the world. Through music and travel, I have visited more than 100 countries and gained a deep appreciation for different cultures, traditions, and ways of life.
  
  I am also a lifelong peace activist and consider myself a world citizen. I enjoy sharing stories and experiences from decades of international travel, the music business, entrepreneurship, and life in different parts of the world. Workawayers who are interested in music, travel, global affairs, or building a creative career may find these conversations especially valuable.

  Ayuda

  We are open to Workawayers with a variety of skills, and we do not expect anyone to do everything listed below. Ideally, each person would contribute in one or more areas that match their interests and experience. We ask for approximately three hours of help per day.
  
  Cooking and cleaning up after meals would be especially appreciated. We already have a professional cleaning service once a week, so only light day-to-day tidying would be involved. Spanish conversation practice or informal lessons would also be welcome, but this is completely optional and is not a requirement.
  
  We may also have opportunities for people with online or creative skills, particularly website updates, social media, marketing, content creation, photography, or video.
  
  Some tasks may be completed independently, while others can be collaborative, giving us a chance to exchange ideas and learn from one another. We are flexible and happy to shape the experience around each Workawayer’s strongest skills.

  I speak fluent English. My wife speaks fluent English and Tagalog, as well as basic Spanish. We are interested in language exchange and would especially enjoy opportunities to practice conversational Spanish in a relaxed, informal way. We are also happy to help Workawayers practice English or Tagalog and to learn a few words or phrases from their native language.

  Workawayers will stay in our colorful, classic-rock-themed home in the rainforest above Playa Hermosa, near Uvita and Dominical. The house has spectacular panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, the Whale’s Tail, nearby islands, and the surrounding coastline. Playa Hermosa is only a three-minute drive down the hill, while the shops, restaurants, and services of Uvita are about five minutes away.
  
  The home is especially well suited to digital nomads. We have ultra-fast Wi-Fi, several comfortable work areas, and a large executive desk overlooking the ocean. A complete solar-power system keeps the electricity and internet running even during local power outages.
  
  The accommodation includes a comfortable bedroom with a high-quality mattress. The house has fans, natural breezes, and excellent ventilation. The home also has a well-equipped kitchen, indoor and outdoor showers, spacious balconies and terraces, and a small infinity dipping pool with an incredible view.
  
  Workawayers can enjoy our private walking trail, stargazing and yoga platform, outdoor exercise area, basketball half-court, organic garden, and numerous tropical fruit trees. Wildlife is frequently seen around the property, where the rainforest meets the sea. Our mountain-spring water has been tested for purity and is safe to drink directly from the tap.
  
  We have a washer and dryer for your use.
  
  Our home is strictly for adults aged 21 and over. We cannot accommodate children or animals, including pets. No guests, please.

  Our home is eco-friendly, and we try to live in a way that respects the surrounding rainforest and natural environment. Cigarette smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property.
  
  We usually go to Playa Hermosa early each morning, and Workawayers are welcome to ride with us and enjoy the beach. During their free time, they can surf, swim, bodysurf, walk or jog along the beach, explore Uvita and Dominical, visit waterfalls, or enjoy the many outdoor activities in the Costa Ballena area.
  
  Uber and local taxis are generally available for trips into town. Workawayers are also welcome to join us when we go into Uvita to run errands, depending on our schedule and available space.

  Your spacious bedroom includes two large, comfortable desks and a stunning ocean view, making it an ideal setup for remote work or creative projects. We have two separate Wi-Fi systems in case one experiences a problem, along with solar power to prevent interruptions during local outages. Because we ask for only about three hours of help per day, there is plenty of time to maintain your own work schedule. With reliable internet, multiple workspaces, peaceful rainforest surroundings, and inspiring views, it is an exceptional environment for digital nomads, writers, artists, and other creative professionals.
