Program look under, read all if interested !!

I'm traveling by inland river barge (boat) through Europe, especially Holland, Belgium and France. The barge is an original Dutch built péniche and made for the old French channels. I still transport sometimes cargo and I am the third generation of a shipper family from both sides of my parents. I live and work alone on the barge sometimes accompanied by my girlfriend and daughter.

There is a simple separate -little- room for guests in the front of the barge which is not suite. (no sanitaire, but there is a chemical toilet and lavabo) Also a heating system, fridge/freezer and micro-wave. I live on the back of the barge in the skippers logement.

The work to do depends on the person, cleaning, housekeeping work, shopping and cooking ? ? ? And serving the aperitif of the skipper of course at 18h00 exactly..LOL.

My intention is to make contact with other people and have an exchange of cultures.

    Kind regards,

    Plans for 2020 :

** Corona (Covid-19), special times !! In Netherlands we have "Intelligent -Lockdown", we are free to move but the minimum as possible a lot (museum, Theatre, bars etc) is closed. For Belgium and French there is a strict "Lockdown". No idea about how long things stay by this in each country. In principe I can take a Workawayer on the barge in NL.

Actually I live on the barge mooring up in Rotterdam NL. My 5 pleasure boats are mooring up in different places in French, I can not reach them for the moment. When French go open I have to go to visit this boats.

** One pleasure boat is ready in the Netherlands and have to be moved to French. I expect to get a special permission.

** Transport by barges is going on, free to move in NL, BE and France. I think about maybe go and do a trip from Holland to France.

    General :

    * I have to find and buy several pleasure-boats, do maintenance, cleaning and make the ready to navigate to French. So this past in Holland / Netherlands !!

    * So I travel –often by car- to keep this 7 boats in NL (barge and buy boats), near Paris and Bourgogne (maintenance, clean and sell boats). Sometimes I bring a pleasure boat from NL to FR in this case I need a Workawayer also.

    Notes :

    * Plans can suddenly completely change !!!!!!!! In fact plans change every day....So don't ask my what go happen in future : I really don't know (however I always can explain how to come/travel to the boat and I will pay the local ticket). One thing is sure : There happen always something ! It can be everywhere city, village or countryside...in the Netherlands, Belgium or French.

    * After 30 years traveling and transport on the barge I set up a new trade : I buy boats in Holland and sale the boats in French. It is interesting also, I see a lot of nice places and different people. The tasks for the "Workawayer" are a bit the same.

    * For the question "minimal stay for Workawayers"...complicated to explain : If it fit really well between us a long stay is possible (this will be happen in a mix of countries NL, BE, FR) on the barge and/or pleasure boats. But shorter stays is of cours also possible. Feel free to contact my for short stays, sometimes I can use a Workawayer to move a boat, but this will be always last-minute.

    * Sometimes "People don't show up on last moment so....feel free to contact my if available on last moment.

Offen there is time to visit the area. Somethimes several days off/free for visit and local travel. There is a bike on the barge. For good cooks there is a quit large budget for food and wine, in fact I like good food and meals......
