  • Description

I'm Saana, a cheerful, adventurous and open-minded nature lover in my thirties, from Helsinki, Finland.
I'm very sociable and enthusiastic person full of ideas, always ready for new challenges.
I am friendly and considerate, enjoy being around different kinds of people and learning from them.

I could also be described a colourful, talkative, creative and fun person who gets excited easily and inspires others, always eager to learn new things, see new places and meet new souls.
As a worker and team member I am independent, responsible and reliable, honest and direct.

I love the beauty of the world, the smallest things can bring so much happiness to individuals. I'm trying to live my life doing things that make me happy and would also bring happiness to others without harming others or the environment. Trying to find my place in this world while living a happy life.

I think people are never too old to learn new skills and improve as a person. I also believe we all have something to give, and we all can learn from each others. Maybe this is why I love traveling so much, expanding the variety of things to learn when the variety of people and cultures is bigger!

I have a fun mix of passions /things I love: nature, visual beauty, photography, fashion history, dressmaking, crafts, languages, films and documentaries, dancing, traveling, cultural events, baking, summer, architecture, meeting people, organizing dinner parties and events.

I love digging my hands in the garden soil, and I was happy to get to do Workaway in a permaculture garden and olive grove in Sicily last autumn.

Though it looks I don't have much experience on Workaway, I have been volunteering A LOT during my life (abroad at some hostels and in families as an au pair, in my own country I have been volunteering at different kinds of cultural events like film festivals, music festivals, multicultural world festival, I have also done Couchsurfing and hitch-hiking in Europe and lived in many different house-sharing communes, so I can say I am good at adapting to different places working with all kinds of people and being friendly, considerate and respectful towards others.

So despite of having forgotten to ask for the references from the Workaway hostels over 5 years ago, they were very good volunteering experiences and they were happy with my contribution and even chose me to substitute the hostel manager when she was away.
I volunteered for 3 months at both hostels in Spain, and I enjoyed the hostel work.
