Description
Hello, future friends! Our names are Serena and Darius. We have travelled to several states together so far, as well as Puerto Rico, and are hoping to extend our travels through Workaway for some more long-term travelling on a budget while getting to interact with and meet new individuals.
We recently bought a small piece of land in Arizona and are planning on building a natural home made from earthbags. I (Serena) did Workaway a couple of summers ago in 2020 while I travelled in my RV but I forgot the password to that account. I helped with restoring a backyard habitat in Pittsburgh, running a hostel in Detroit, building a cob house in Missouri and more before running out of money and heading back home to Pennsylvania to teach 1st grade at a school in The Bronx during the 2020 pandemic school year. Then, in 2021, I did Workaway again, this time in Arizona helping build an earth home in Bisbee and helping run a desert farm between Phoenix and Tucson.
We are open to doing an array of activities during our time Workawaying and look forward to getting to meet all of you! :) We also hope to one day return the favor and get to be hosts ourselves once we start our earthbag build in 2024.

(Serena) English is my first language and I have been learning Spanish since middle school, but I'm still not completely fluent yet. I would like to work on my speaking and listening skills for Spanish, and am also interested in learning Hindi. Additionally, I have my ESL teaching certificate, so I can help you learn English!

We are very open to new experiences, so give us a task and we'll happily do it. Full disclosure, I (Serena) am vegan so I do not eat eggs, dairy or meat (this has been a problem for some hosts before so I just want to put that out there now!) I LOVE to cook, so I am more than happy to make something we can all enjoy!
Along with cooking, we both also love camping and exploring new areas, so along with the working hours, we hope you don't mind showing us around the area at some point so we can get a feel for the place!
We are also VERY interested in learning any and everything about natural building. We just bought a plot of land near Tucson, AZ and are planning on starting our build soon!
I (Serena) have been to 50 countries and most of the United States so let's sit down over a cup of tea and talk travel!
