Hey!

I'm a college student currently attending Yale, and I will be backpacking through South America this summer.

Through past experiences on exchange in Germany and backpacking through many parts of the United States, I have gained a love for adventure and novel experiences, and have learned the value of understanding different cultures and ways of life. My favorite part about traveling is getting to experience the daily lives of different cultures, and workaway is the perfect opportunity to share cultures by living and working side by side.

I am very passionate about the outdoors and am hardworking, and I am excited to help out in any way that I can. I specifically have experience with building, woodworking + power tools, caring for animals, photography, action sports, backpacking/hiking, and know some basic cooking. I am ready to share these skills, or learn new ones.

I am independent and capable but also recognize the value of working with others and being a part of a community, and I look forward to the many new people I can meet and knowledge and stories we can share with each other.

Im currently a student at Yale studying economics and cognitive science. I have done a lot of volunteer work in the past that consisted of some minor woodworking and basic maintenance and house work/construction. I have experience with farming and gardening, as I lived on a farm in Germany last year. I also have experience working with and caring for animals. I have never surfed, but I am a good snowboarder and pick up board sports very very quickly. I'm physically very fit, and am able to lift heavy objects and enjoy hard physical labor. I speak English and German, and am currently beginning to learn Spanish. I am also an experienced photographer, you can find some of the work I've done at www.austinlifestylephotography.com. I am certified in first aid and am currently leading backpacking trips for my school, so I have quite a bit of outdoor experience.

I play guitar, and am very interested in Music. I also love action sports such as surfing (which i would love to learn this summer). I am a photographer and have some graphic design experience. I love backpacking and nature. I also play rugby for Yale, and love all sports.
