We are Celyn (from the UK) and Faye (from China), and in July 2019 we are starting a round the world trip, beginning in Ethiopia. We are planning to follow the prehistoric 'human migration route', that takes us from Africa through the Middle East, Asia, then to North America and down to South America (at least, this is our current plan!).
Although we have both already travelled extensively, we recently decided it was time for us to quit our jobs and embark on the adventure of long term travel. Faye until recently was a successful businesswoman in Beijing, working at one of the largest private companies in China. Celyn is an artist, and taught art and design as well as running a gallery and art centre.
As we mentioned, the idea for a trip comes from the prehistoric human migration route, that took the earliest humans across the world. We are planning to make a series of documentaries as we travel; Faye is interested in exploring the food cultures of different countries, and Celyn is interested in documenting the environmental issues and challenges that different communities now face.

Helping with Tourists
Together we have a range of experience and expertise that we use to help out with!
Celyn is an artist, and has painted a range of murals and large scale artworks (with Faye helping out with recent projects!). He has worked as a freelance designer in Beijing, as well as teaching at an art college (where in addition to teaching Fine Art he also taught Graphic Design, including Photoshop skills). He also has some woodworking/ manual skills, is able to do basic renovation work. Previously Celyn has WOOFed extensively in Italy, and there learnt a range of skills (re-building a section of a house using handmade mud bricks; looking after crops and animals; preparing and installing an irrigation system for a pomegranate orchard). While at University in Scotland Celyn was involved in a number of conservation projects, but was particularly focused on a project to preserve the habitat of puffins on an island near Edinburgh (North Berwick). Celyn plays the guitar and speaks Italian and Chinese...although if you want to learn some Chinese, Faye previously was a professional Chinese teacher!
In addition to teaching Chinese or English, Faye has extensive experience in project planning and business development, all of which are skills and knowledge she is happy to share. She is an excellent cook (both Chinese and Western food) and has worked as a fixer on documentary films before, and has knowledge of filmmaking.
