Hello! I am Alicia, from Hong Kong. I have recently graduated from King's College London, and am embarking on my gap year to explore different cultures before starting work! I love immersing myself in new environments to learn about history and customs. Coming from an international background, I am always intrigued in how much our culture influence our values, thoughts, and behaviours.

I love hiking, and would like to use this opportunities to see more of nature ! Although Hong Kong has its fair shares of mountains, it is not quite the same standing in out in the open (imagine sound of music haha). I hope to see more breath-taking views of the world, and through this experience, visit many more wonderful places!

I am aspiring to be a TV and film producer. As it is an international industry, considering films are made all around the world as well as outlets such as Netflix allowing easier access of foreign films, I believe the knowledge and experience I derive from Workaway would be valuable in my future workplace.

More details about your skills

I speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and (extremely) entry-level French haha. I have experience in teaching English: Volunteer at local HK primary school 2 years, YMCA camp counsellor 1 year, private IGCSE / A level tutor 3 years (including Maths) so would be capable in teaching English. I've also volunteered doing handy work ie. painting walls, building kindergartens, so would be fine doing more physical work as well.

I love cooking, in university I loved exploring new recipes and cooking cuisines from all around the world. I particularly enjoy baking - once I made macaroons everyday to perfect my skills HAHA. I would love to help out in the kitchen sometimes and expand my recipes!

I'm more than happy to be taking car of dogs or cats! I have three dogs at home whom I take out to walk regularly.

I guess overall I'm someone who's willing to learn new skills ! :)

My favourite board game is Mahjong, which I'm more thank happy to teach! :) I enjoy playing the piano and writing Google reviews from time to time - I am a local guide in London!
