Hello! I'm Mary Beth and I am a genuinely happy, optimistic, and easy going person who loves adventure and learning. I live by the philosophy life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. Last summer I realized I needed a change and left my comfy healthcare job in the US to move to Spain for the school year and teach English. I even brought my cat with me! It has truly been the experience of a lifetime and I have found a special home in Almansa, Spain. Now the school year is up and I have an opportunity to explore other areas over the summer.

I previously worked as a nurse practitioner back in the US and I am highly trained in the medical field. My experience is in orthopedics but I am very passionate about holistic medicine, women's health, and mental health. I absolutely love animals, children, cooking, arts and crafts, gardening and the outdoors.

I find that I am a combination of introvert and extrovert. I love socializing as much as I love reading a good book at home with my cat, and I like a good balance of both. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about new ideas and cultures, as well as sharing my own views and experiences in an open, kind, and non-judgmental way.

This is my first time trying out workaway and I am really looking forward to meeting my first host and having a lovely and memorable experience! :)

-Medical professional with 8+ of combined nursing and nurse practitioner experience, but I am NOT afraid to get my hands dirty :)

-TEFL certified and experience as an English teacher and tutor. I think people learn best when lessons are interactive and fun!

-Gardening and landscaping- I previously had my own garden and too many plants to count.

-Childcare: when I say childcare I don't just mean watching kids or just babysitting, I mean actually interacting and making sure they are learning about the world and life in a safe and fun way. I think too often adults forget how special it is to see the world through the eyes of a child and that we were once children. The world would be a little bit better if all adults could embrace their inner child a little more. I believe children are one of the most precious things in this world and I hope to be a mother myself one day once the circumstances permit it.

I am a fast learner and I love taking on new challenges and learning new skills. I am not afraid to use power tools!
