Description
Hello, we are Martin (29) and Tabea (25). We're a couple from germany and have been together since five years. Within our relationship we've been travelling a lot in our van in europe. Now it's time for our next big journey: we want to dive into south america. We're really interested in getting to know different cultures and approaches of living. For that reason we always love to settle somwhere and getting in touch with people who want to share their experiences, backgrounds and stories with us. We also love to talk about how we experience life. For that reason we're always curious about new languages and we definetely plan on getting fluent in spanish ;) Tabea has spent many years with spanish courses at the univeristiy and is almost fluent and Martin already knows the basics but wants to get fluent in spanish.
We're both about to finish our masters degree. Tabea has been studying arthistory and art education. She likes to cook and she's always curious to learn new things and is good at shaping, moulding, nurturing and restoring her environment with little resources. She also loves to get into new languages and teaching others german.
Martin has been studying energy engineering. He is an open-minded person who always enjoys learning new things. He likes to cook and is always down for a coffee with a cigarette. He did a apprentinceship as an electrician and has skills in installing photovoltaik systems. He also has skills in welding and woodworking stuff. He also loves to build things out of recycled materials and would love to improve his skills on that.

As a couple who has been travelling a lot we always try to get in touch with people and enyoing our time with strangers who suddenly become friends. Inviting others for a coffee or dinner is something we really enjoy and what we look forward to do :)

We carry campinggear like a tent, inflatable matresses etc. so we're not depending on accommondation. A nice spot around your area where we can set up our tent is enough for us.

We had an amazing time in Tekoatí. The work was a good mixture of everything and everyone had the possibility to bring up their own ideas and work based on their own preferences and skills. The're some things that have to be done in certain cycles such as watering plants all over the areal and cleaning the paths that are going through the property… read more but we also had the freedom to paint, restore, plant and come up with our own ideas.
Apart from that the stay was a lovely experience. We felt like being part of a family. In the reunions, that take place every morning, we set the things that have to be done during the day. Everything was handled very transparent and the volunteers are involved in everything, so there's no feeling of being treated differently. Everybody was nice, interested and also eager to get in touch.
Furthermore we could order groceries whatever we desired for eating, baking etc. During the week there was delicious vegetarian lunch provided for all of us and everyone gathers to eat together.
The cabins were clean and comfy. Nevertheless we were basiclly living in the nature so of course there are some bugs and spiders who find the way through the door. That dind't bother us though, as they also provide mosquitonets if needed.
The good thing about living in the middle of nowhere in the nature is that there will be monkeys, sloths and other animals who come across the areal once in a while. Furthermore we saw a variety of the brightest, colorfoul butterflys. Apart from that we we're living with those amazing people and some of them know the nature pretty well! so stay tuned to hear some amazing stories from them.

Lo pasamos genial en Tekoatí. El trabajo era una buena mezcla de todo y cada uno tenía la posibilidad de aportar sus propias ideas y trabajar según sus preferencias y habilidades. Hay algunas cosas que hay que hacer en determinados ciclos, como regar las plantas de toda la zona y limpiar los caminos que atraviesan la propiedad, pero también tuvimos la libertad de pintar, restaurar, plantar y aportar nuestras propias ideas.
Aparte de eso, la estancia fue una experiencia encantadora. Nos sentimos como en familia. En las reuniones, que tienen lugar cada mañana, fijamos las cosas que hay que hacer durante el día. Todo se gestionó de forma muy transparente y los voluntarios participan en todo, así que no hay sensación de que te traten de forma diferente. Todo el mundo era amable, estaba interesado y también deseoso de ponerse en contacto.
Además, podíamos pedir lo que quisiéramos para comer, hornear, etc. Durante la semana nos proporcionaron un delicioso almuerzo vegetariano y todos nos reunimos para comer juntos.
Las cabañas estaban limpias y eran cómodas. No obstante, como viviamos en plena naturaleza, habia algunos bichos y arañas que se colaban por la puerta. Eso no nos molestó, ya que también proporcionan mosquiteros si es necesario.
Lo bueno de vivir en medio de la naturaleza es que habrá monos, perezosos y otros animales que se cruzan por el areal de vez en cuando. Además vimos una gran variedad de mariposas de colores brillantes. Aparte de eso estamos viviendo con esta gente increíble y algunos de ellos conocen la naturaleza muy bien, así que estad atentos para escuchar algunas historias increíbles de ellos.
