Hey! I'm Julian and I'm from California, USA.

I graduated High School in 2023 and am backpacking/volunteering during my Gap Year before attending University this August.

I grew up in Costa Rica for the first 10 years of my life (with 4 older siblings) and have stayed very connected to my first home, which has made me excited to explore new places and learn about different cultures. I speak Spanish fluently and am eager to be immersed in new languages!

In my free time, I love to read/write, play basketball and tennis, and listen to music! Conservation work and community service are passions of mine that have played a big role in my life.

I'm very excited about any possibilities in Workaway!

(2) I Co-Founded an environmental NGO, Nature Now International, that engages youth in community-based conservation and science through research, outreach, and advocacy for the protection of our biodiversity. Some projects I help lead and manage:
- This was our 8th year of in-person fieldwork programs in Costa Rica (mural painting, reforestation, sea turtle monitoring, etc.) for 20+ High School classmates
- Annual educational curriculums for 1st grade classes in underserved community
- Developed and conducted international, online citizen science internships
