Hello future friend!,
We (Greg and Catyie) are a friendly and energetic couple that has past workaway experience and is ready again for future workaway experiences!
We are full time RVer's now. Our rig is 21 ft long and 11.4 Ft tall. We are looking for Workaway opportunities that accommodate our rig. It is a 2022 "21rbss North Trail" travel trailer.
We spent 2021 living in the Balkans, exploring Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania. We completed our first workaway experience spring 2021 in Montenegro, working at a guesthouse for a few months to get ready for the upcoming tourist season. Our tasks included landscaping, gardening (including building new raised beds and starting veggie plants from seed), rebuilding compost bins and teaching our hosts about proper composting, as well as basic grounds maintenance and various building projects. We then spent the summer farm sitting in central Bulgaria, caring for the property and all the animals who lived there (7 dogs, 3 horses and 3 cats!). In 2022 we traveled to the pacific northwest of the united states where we enjoyed 2 other workways at a hobby farm and another where we helped demo/remodel a home. We really enjoyed participating in various projects these workaway opportunities provided whether it was us learning new skills or us providing our knowledge to the hosts.
Greg is originally from Philadelphia (go birds!) and worked as an engineer for various manufacturing companies in the northeast through his 20/30s. Growing up, he spent many summers working in vineyards and hasn't grown out of the desire to work outside, closer to nature, and getting his hands dirty. He has some experience with carpentry, plumbing, landscaping, driving heavy machinery, and is self-motivated and a quick learner.
Greg is currently a full time parent of our furry companion named Tuna. She is a well trained, 35 lb, adopted dog, who we have had for the last two years. Greg will be fully committed to any workaway project and will be able to devote as much time needed.
Catyie studied geology in school after several backpacking and horse packing trips through the western USA left her wondering how these natural formations came to be. After college, she worked to evaluate and remediate soil and groundwater contamination on commercial and industrial properties throughout New England. She has always enjoyed being outside and learning new skills. She has spent time performing manual labor for trail restoration projects and loves caring for all animals.
Catyie is currently employed focusing on contamination remediation of brownfield projects. She has a somewhat flexible schedule but will not be able to have the flexibility or the hours Greg can provide BUT will still help out when possible, whether that be later in the day or weekend. What Catyie may lack in physical labor time, she can more than make up for it with her famous detroit style pizza :)
We both like to stay in shape by our activities/hobbies or working out in the mornings. We love animals and have worked with dog shelters and hobby farmers. We love to cook and are good at making healthy meals, which we love to share with others. We are interested in meeting like-minded people that can teach us new things and appreciate the skills we have to offer :) We are really flexible with timelines starting March 2026 and can offer a couple weeks, or longer if needed. ***Also we are both fully vaccinated for Covid and believe in staying up to date with health requirements that keep our workaway host healthy as well.
