  • Description

Long story short, I enjoy active work, helping people, meeting new people, and seeing new places.
Hi, I'm Dirik. I am a bit of a jack of all trades, I love to travel more than anything, and am looking for excuses to go somewhere new. From construction to housesitting and animal caretaking, I feel like I have done a bit of everything. For the past 6 years I have run my own business building patios, residential construction, hardscaping and landscaping in the mountains and valleys of Montana. I specialize in reused/reclaimed/recycled materials and like to get creative figuring out how to complete projects with what I have on hand. I bring many other skills to the table- please see SKILLS section for my list.

In my free time I'm mostly a quiet person but like to keep busy. I love to cook, collect records, work in my garden, project around the house, spend time outside, read, and I love my cats more than anything. I also volunteer in my community on the Board of Directors of a local non-profit which gives me experience with fundraising and outreach. Most recently I am teaching myself the art of bonsai and woodcarving.

  • What else ...

I enjoy playing board games with friends and family and I love to practice yoga and meditation in my spare time. I really enjoy music; going to see live music and collecting vinyl records are some of my favorite hobbies. I also love to cook, grow and take care of indoor plants and outside gardening.
I really enjoy volunteering. One of my most profound experiences was volunteering for a summer for the National Forest Service building trails in the wilderness and camping in my tent every night. The experience was challenging but very rewarding. I hope to enjoy a similar experience with workaway, spending time helping out, making new friends and having good memories.
