Hello! How are you? :)

Our names are Tomás and Beatriz and we are 21 years old. We are Portuguese medical students devoted to helping others and bringing them happiness anyway we can. Tomás came from a big family with 2 brothers (19 and 23) and Beatriz had the chance to be a very present big sister to her little brother (9).

Since a very young age, we both had the dream of taking part in an exchange program in the USA. We were lucky to have that dream come true and that’s when our paths crossed. We met in 2019 before departing to one of the greatest adventures of our lives. We spent the last year of high school living with an American host family in Spokane, Washington and Barron, Wisconsin. We have been together for 4 years now and counting :)

Traveling has always been a big passion of ours and the best part is the possibility to learn about so many different cultures. We also love music and learned how to play the piano independently. Beatriz loves to sing and Tomás is very excited to show you his magic tricks. Sports are also a big part of our lives! We love surfing, skiing and going to the gym together. We are always excited to try new things! Tomás played soccer for 10 years and tennis for 3 and Beatriz was a gymnast for 10 years.

We both grew up very close to nature and farming. Tomás’ family is in the agriculture department as rice producers and he grew up surrounded by rice fields, learning everything he could about the subject. Also, growing up on a farm made him a very versatile person, who can do a little bit of everything. Beatriz’s family always had its own little farm with vineyards, fruit trees and olive trees for its own consumption and wine making was always a very important family moment.

Even though we love traveling and exploring, we also really enjoy staying at home just reading or spending time with our families. Meals together are a very important family moment in our lives! Beatriz loves to bake and learn how to cook new foods! We are both very interested in learning more about vegetarian/vegan food and eager to try it :)

We both are very responsible, dedicated, persistent, communicative and open minded! You can count on us for everything you need help with!

The two of us are very excited to be part of this project! We really want to learn about your family, way of living, traditions, language and adventures!
