Hello! My name's Tom and I am a recent History graduate, travelling around South America and learning Spanish. I am from Birmingham, England and I studied for three years in Belfast, in the North of Ireland. This is where myself and Conn became friends! I have aspirations to become a journalist which comes from a deep desire to understand a great depth of information on a range of topics! In line with this I relish having interesting and challenging conversations with those from different backgrounds.
Hi, I'm Conn and I am from Derry, Ireland, and like Tom I am a History graduate of the same university. We decided to come to South America on our gap year in hopes of learning Spanish and experiencing new cultures. I would like to pursue a career in teaching as I want to have a positive impact on the next generation of students and feel like I've made a difference.
Being from the rainy British Isles, We take every opportunity to spend the days outdoors, soaking in the sun. We love travelling and learning everything there is to know about the cultures we encounter. In our free time we enjoy reading, listening to music, playing football and hockey, as well as journaling.

We have come to South America specifically to learn Spanish as we travel, hopefully gaining a strong knowledge by the time we return home. At the moment we are taking lessons but have a limited knowledge and can answer questions if spoken to slowly!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We are both online English tutors working on multiple platforms, delivering lessons to students from all over the world. We both have experience teaching children and adults and love to be involved with language exchange programmes. We are both active and sporty, playing multiple sports including football and hockey. We hope to be able to help with any odd jobs that need to be done and have had a variety of random part time jobs in the past including working on farms, factories, bars and restaurants.

Was noch ...

We graduated Queen's University Belfast with a degree in History in the Summer of 2024 and decided to embark on a gap year to South America to learn Spanish and experience the culture, climate and environment of the continent. We both enjoy learning about other people's cultures and love to share elements of our English/Irish upbringing, especially the unique society of the North of Ireland.
