We are a couple from Cornwall and Jersey in the U.K who are currently travelling in our camper van on the South island of New Zealand

We are an easy going couple who enjoy the simple things in life, surfing, snowboarding, skiing music, reading, good food. We love being surrounded by nature and exploring new places. Our plan is to one day own some land of our own and be able to live sustainably so we are really keen to meet like minded people and learn more about these ways of living.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Marley - Over the years I have been involved in loads of different landscape gardening and construction projects whether that's for my work or personal projects. When I am back at my home on the island of Jersey ( in between travels) I work as a grounds keeper, where my job is to look after and maintain a plot of land with its surrounding properties, with this job my day to day work is constantly changing depending on what pops up, this has allowed me to learn and get stuck into loads of different exciting projects which have been helpful with past workaway experiences. I enjoy and have experience in carpentry, concreting/groundworks, painting/decorating, landscaping, permaculture, tractors/ ploughing. Also during the winter months I work as a Ski Instructor, so would be more than happy to offer some lessons on the slopes!!!

Sydney - When I am home in Cornwall I usually work in coffee shops as a Baristaaand spent the last summer as a jewellery maker. I have experience with animals and horses as I have been around them from a young age. In my spare time I love knitting (I would be more than happy to give some lessons!) After leaving Cornwall last year I spent the first part of my travels working and living on a off grid hobby farm in Western Australia, where me and Marley helped out on the land, creating garden beds using permaculture, tending to veggie gardens, driving tractors (ploughing), chopping down invasive trees. Each morning I fed and cared for 4 horses and helped out with the sheep and chickens. After leaving our first farm in April we have now landed in Wanaka NZ, where we are on our second workaway experience, on another remote off grid property where we are living and working to regenerate the land ready for planting in the future. Our day to day consists of planting native trees, clearing dead bush, driving tractors and using a woodchipper to create mulch for the gardens.
