We are located in Colorado, USA right now and are planning to Workaway through Latin America in 2025!

Beschreibung

Hello there, we are two best friends (not actually a couple!) from Denver, Colorado. We became friends in primary school and have always talked of traveling the world one day, which is what we've been doing for the past year together. We would love to offer our help to those willing to have us!
Sydney is passionate about her career and fitting in one more year abroad before she heads off to law school. She loves spending time outdoors, cooking, practicing yoga, being around loved ones, and playing guitar or piano. She has been to over 10 countries, is fluent in English and intermediate in French.
Akiko has travelled with her mom growing up and has been to over 15 countries, but is hoping to expand her experiences because traveling has become a passion. She loves her two cats, music and concerts, art, and trying and cooking new foods. Akiko has extensive experience working in the service industry and is a talented seamstress. She is fluent in English and intermediate in Spanish.

We have both worked throughout our entire adult lives. We have extensive experience in customer service/hospitality including social media, gardening, cleaning tasks, food preparation, child care, and English lessons. We love art, music, and using our hands to do good in the world. The most important thing about both of us is that we are easily teachable, truly enjoy learning new things, and will always try something new. There is truly no task you can give us we won't be willing to do our best at.
We spent the summer of 2023 backpacking Europe for 3 months with different Workaway hosts. We have a few reviews but some hosts did not leave feedback due to the language barrier. We would be happy to provide our previous host's contact information if you would like a reference. We have had nothing but amazing experiences from Workaway and we can't wait to have more!

We would be happy to help involve others in conversational English. We are both native speakers and can possibly aid in teaching some of the language. Sydney has functional conversational knowledge in French, and can read almost fluently. Akiko is conversational in Spanish.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Both of us have worked different jobs in the service industry for over 8 years and we are really comfortable with interacting with guests in order to give them positive experiences! We are used to having to answer phones and emails, running reception areas, the upkeep of a business's social media, serving, and general hospitality. We are happy to go into more depth about our professional careers if you are interested.
We are quite good cooks and really enjoy it. We have years of experience with children and babysitting throughout our lives and always enjoy the company of little ones. We each have lived in our own homes for some time now, and have full knowledge of cleaning and housekeeping. Sydney has experience with construction and home remodeling. She is handy and can assist with those tasks when shown the ropes! Akiko is as a skillful seamstress, she can mend and create clothing, and is generally extremely artistic.Where one of us may lack the other one tends to excel. We compliment each other's interests, and both of us are always willing to try a new task. We find art projects to be extremely profound and fulfilling and love collaborating with other volunteers to share our vision of the world.

Our previous Workaway experiences were in gardening, farm work, and hospitality. We do not mind getting our hands dirty or spending all day outside in the garden. We've loved all of our previous Workaway experiences, Our intention with Workaway is to interact with others in a meaningful, show our hosts how much we appreciate them through hard work, and to fall in love with new things.
