Hello! My name is Sophie and I'm from the South Island of New Zealand. After finishing high school in 2021, I spent a year working full time at a tech startup. I then decided to use the money I saved to travel. I left New Zealand in December 2022 and have been on the road ever since. The plan now is basically just to keep exploring until my money runs out :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I enjoy working with my hands and am keen to give most things a go. I have experience working with electronics, repairing appliances, soldering, etc. but I'm not an electrician so I shouldn't try to wire your house :)

I generally pick up skills for crafts very quickly, as I'm good at working with small fiddly things or things that require precision. I have lots of experience with various artistic mediums. At a previous workaways, I have been able to help out by painting signs/murals and making decorations for the place. Photos are on my profile.

I’ve also volunteered at a hostel before, which involved both reception work (greeting guests, using the booking system, managing payments) and the behind the scenes stuff (laundry, making beds, preparing breakfast, cleaning).

Was noch ...

I've been travelling for long enough that I've forgotten what it's like to have normal interests and hobbies (: Back at home, I used to enjoy figure skating (I wish I could travel with my skates!), learning languages, getting involved in environmental activism, and tattooing. Now that I'm away from home, I've become a railway enthusiast and pastry enjoyer.
