Bikepacking Baja Divide, enjoying the desert and talking to the locals.

Beschreibung

Currently riding a famous and quite demanding offroad Baja Divide [https://bajadivide.com/] ride down Baja California, Mexico, although not sure how far I will last!!

I am a techie by profession and I have been coding for video game engines. Recently I lost my in-the-office job (no regret) in Central Europe and decided to go travelling along the West Coast of North America on a bike. Just finished a ride from Vancouver to San Diego.

I have been enjoying my trip and I am looking forward to being useful to others, helping and interacting with people, practising meditation, learning more about others as well as myself, being social and spreading peace. And to continue having more awesome adventures!

I have quite a bit of volunteering experience. I started volunteering as a student and found it both personally rewarding as well as beneficial for the community. Lately, I have helped to run the 2019 UK Dharma Celebration at a Buddhist Meditation Centre in Derbyshire [https://tarakmc.org/]. Over the years I have been slowly getting into the meditation practice, now with Sahaja Yoga [https://www.freemeditation.com/].

In the past, I have coordinated two work camps for the SCI [https://www.sci.ngo/]. Once we were restoring the World War I trenches and paths at the Open-Air War Museum on the Austrian-Italian border [https://www.dolomitenfreunde.at/openair-en/]. Another time we were doing some carpentry work and helped to install a biomass heating system at Rudolf Steiner Waldorf school [http://www.waldorf-schoenau.at/] in Lower Austria.

I believe in treating everyone with respect, regardless of time and place. Over time some of my hobbies have been pencil drawing, playing city-building video games, climbing/bouldering, caving, hiking, skiing and, last but not least, cycling. I am an introvert and a cat person and very much enjoy playing with cats if I can find some around who are willing to oblige!
