Beschreibung
We are Camila and Sebastián, an Argentinian couple with Italian nationality. We have been living in Italy since February 2022.

We like to travel slowly, discover places, learn new cultures and customs, live new experiences, meet new people and treasure memorable memories for our lives.

We are passionate about wine, gastronomy and hospitality. We are enthusiastic and motivated to carry out work and activities that are linked to these. That's why we started using Workaway, to discover places to learn about these areas and develop new skills.

We are sociable, empathetic and open-minded people. We enjoy sharing moments with others, but we are also respectful of personal spaces. We believe that respect, good manners, and open and sincere communication are the basis for building a healthy bond. That is what we will provide you as guests and, reciprocally, what we expect from our hosts.

Camila was born in a small town. He grew up in a family with a strong Italian imprint, with a great passion for gastronomy and hospitality. She is passionate about cooking, enjoys researching and learning about foods, products, and recipes. And of course he loves to eat.

At the age of 18 he moved to Buenos Aires to study and work. She is a psychologist and has a great vocation for service.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, watching movies, hiking, and exploring. She loves the sea, the beach and loves sunsets. Since living in Italy she loves the mountains and snow, she would like to learn to ski.

Last year he worked as an aiuto cuoco in a Locanda in Tuscany. With no previous experience, but with a lot of enthusiasm and desire to learn, he was able to carry out the challenge. Having had the opportunity to work alongside a Tuscan cook and coordinate the work within the kitchen was one of the best experiences of his life.

Sebastián was born in Buenos Aires and grew up going regularly to the family farm.

He is a lawyer and has a postgraduate degree in negotiation. He has been working for 20 years as a legal advisor to advertising companies, for the last 3 years he has been working remotely as a digital nomad.

He loves to be in nature, the mountains and the sea. She enjoys sports, swimming, horseback riding, and hiking. He enjoys outdoor work such as gardening (mowing the lawn, watering and pruning plants) and performing tasks on an agricultural farm (working with animals, driving small tractors).
He is passionate about "asado", he likes to grill meat in the Argentine style, grilled or flame-grilled.

Emigrating to Italy allowed him to deepen his interest in the world of wine and viticulture in particular. Last year he had the opportunity to work in the restaurant of a vineyard in Tuscany, in the Chianti Classico region.

He developed tasks as Capo sala and in charge of the shop, and for that he had to learn and deepen his knowledge since he had to provide information to customers about the wines that were produced in the winery. It was a very rewarding experience that he enjoyed developing very much and that further confirmed his desire to continue learning about this world of wine and viticulture.

We are honest, hard-working, responsible people with a good attitude to help others.

vom Host (Help out in our little wine ...) für Workawayer ()

Cami and Seba spent a full season at our Locanda.
We were looking for a custodian couple to take care of the location as well as help with the daily business at the restaurant. The couple should be autonomous so that we could hand over the responsibility of the location.

Below are some of the main tasks that Cami and Seba fulfilled:
- Point of… read more contact for all guests during their stay
- Cami: Kitchen assistant and coordinator: cooking and presentation of dishes; preparing the workstations with the necessary utensils and ingredients; collaborating in the execution of orders to suppliers; receiving and putting the merchandise in order, etc. In addition, her tasks also involved being the brain of the kitchen, managing and deciding the times. That is, she was in charge of receiving, forwarding, and coordinating the commands. Preparation of breakfast for the Agriturismo guests.

- Seba: Head of service: Receiving reservations and assigning tables to customers; coordinating and giving instructions to the waiters; being a waiter as well; controlling the stock of wine; receiving customers and accompanying them to their tables; presenting the menu and providing detailed information about the wines produced here; opening and closing the cash register. He was the reference of the Locanda for customers in case of any inconvenience.

We were positively surprised by their wish to deeply understand our philosophy and goals so that during the whole time of their stay, they gave us valuable advice and recommendations based on their practical experience. This was particularly valuable to us as they performed many tasks independently and gained a broad overview of the day-to-day work .

Cami and Seba from the very beginning fulfilled the tasks that we assigned them and quickly developed in their roles, where they helped in various organisational and planning tasks. They also autonomously noted things that needed to be fixed or improved and did not shy away from putting in an extra hour of work if needed - without us having to ask them.

Cami and Seba stayed with us for around 9 months. Over this period, they grew from valuable contributors within the Locanda team to dear friends of ours. Throughout their whole stay, we have always enjoyed a pleasant and very respectful exchange, even during the most hectic days and the longest working hours. Both were always well prepared for their tasks, friendly, helpful and actively contributed to the good atmosphere in the team.

Cami and Seba are leaving our winery on their own wish. We would have loved to keep them with us for longer but understand their desire for a new adventure and wish them all the best for their future.

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Help out in our little wine ...)

The first thing we want to say about the place is that its owners are excellent people. They made us feel welcome from the first moment, they are very warm, friendly, generous and available.

In relation to the place we can say that it is dreamy. Located in the Chianti Classico area, one of the most wonderful regions of Tuscany. The terrace of the… read more restaurant has one of the best views we have ever seen, surrounded by vineyards and mountains. Having had the opportunity to work here, enjoying nature in its purest state that is appreciated in this place, is something that we will never forget.

Regarding work: it is not the classic Workaway experience where you exchange accomodation and food in exchange for some help. This is a job, a real job. Here you have to work hard. Sometimes with a lot of intensity, especially in high season and long weekends.
The working environment is excellent, the owners are always open to dialogue. For them it is very important to be able to talk to find a solution to the problems or inconveniences that may arise. They are very accessible people and above all, very hardworking. This means that they not only perform their daily tasks and obligations but are also people willing to provide help when it is needed.

Season: this year 2024 began at easter and lasted until the beginning of november. The start of the season is relatively quiet and then the intensity increases as summer arrives. The most intense months are clearly july and august, and weekends. Then the intensity begins to decrease in september until the closing.

Tasks performed. Duality of roles:
1. On one hand we were the couple of custodians. That involved tasks such as:
Guest reception, check-in/out; preparation of breakfast and ensuring that there was everything needed; assist guests with any needs they may have; keep common areas clean and tidy; ensuring the general well-being of the garden (watering plants, pruning); ensure that everything was in order and working correctly in the agriturismo; report if something was faulty or not working properly; receive suppliers, organize the warehouse, do stock control, etc.
2. On the other hand, we worked in the restaurant.
Cami as “aiuto cuoco”. Assisting in the preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes; preparing the workstations with the necessary utensils and ingredients; collaborating in the execution of orders to suppliers; receiving and putting the merchandise in order, etc. In addition, her tasks also involved being the brain of the kitchen, managing and deciding the times. That is, she was in charge of receiving, singing and coordinating the commands.
Sebas as Capo Sala. Receiving reservations and assigning tables to customers; coordinating and giving instructions to the waiters; being waiter as well; controlling the stock of wine; receiving customers and accompanying them to their tables; presenting the menu and providing detailed information about the wines produced here; opening and closing the cash register. He was the reference of the Locanda for customers in case of any inconvenience.

It is important to clarify that this assignment of roles and tasks within the restaurant team was naturally developed according to our skills and interests.

Accomodation: the apartment where we stayed is fantastic. It has a kitchen-dining room, a spacious bathroom with shower, and a separate sleeping room. It is newly restructured and it is very cozy. It has air conditioning and heating. The wifi works perfectly throughout the place.

Experience summary: for us it was a wonderful experience. We couldn't be more grateful to the Davaz family for the opportunity they gave us, for their trust, warmth, goodness and kindness. Together with the work team that was formed this year, they are all excellent people. We are very happy to have met them and to have gone through all these experience together. We are going to miss them a lot!!

It was an immense pleasure having Camila and Sebastiàn staying with us and helping out for three weeks at our agriturismo. They managed to get so much done that it feels like they stayed for much longer - more like three months!
