Hi everyone, my name is Sara and I come from a small city in the north-east of Italy. I have been living in Berlin since 4 years, where I work as a midwife in a hospital. Helping women to give birth it means support them in a very sensitive and significant moment of their lives, when they are so vulnerable but so strong at the same time. So it is very intense, and sometimes can be really hard. But I mean, I am there when after the birth the joy for a new life explode, and that's a gift.

When I have some days off, I like to pack my backpack and travel. For me travel is like learning something new about the world, I like to know more about the culture of others countries, to speak with the people, to eat their food, to listen to the sounds of their streets, to look at the colors of local markets. But I also love the nature, and around the world there are so many breath-taking landscapes. I had the possibility to stare at some of them and be grateful with mother earth. So yes, I try to be very respectful with our world, I'm aware to ecological contents and in the last years I tried to change some of my behavior to be more sustainable and I would love to volunteer to preserve nature and animals.
In addition travel gave me the possibility to meet people from disparate cultural and religious heritage and to appreciate the differences but also the similarities. We are all members of the same race and we should not consider the differences as a negative quality.

But of course I can not travel all the time, so here something else I like to do in my free time. I practiced a lot of different sports but I never got really passionate about one of them. At the moment I really like to boulder (climbing) and I started to make some yoga. I come from a mountain region in Italy and that is the best place for hiking. And if there isn't mountains, no matter, walking in the nature is simply the best. I enjoy to read, but I would like to read more. I listen to different kind of music, but I also enjoy the silence. I hang out with friends, sometimes I like to have some parties and dance, but honestly my perfect Saturday evening is it on the couch with a blanket. And that reminds me that, of course, there is also Netflix in my life ;-).

About my competences I have honestly to say that I don't have so many work experiences beyond my profession as a midwife. But I'm open and willing to learn something new, the motivation is not missing and normally if I do something I do it with commitment: either I do it right or I don't do it at all.
My mother tongue is italian, but I can also speak fluently german and english. At the beginning of this year I started to learn spanish by myself. My understanding is not bad, but I would love to have the opportunity to practice it because speaking is still challenging.

What else? Ah, of course, I have a passion for dogs! Do you know those people that on the street see a baby and start to make some shrills?! That's more or less me but with dogs, embarrassing, I know! My family and I had one mestizo but now that I'm living on my own I don't have the right conditions to have a dog (small apartment, shift work, travel…), but I use to dog-sit the dog of a colleague when she is on vacation.

So, I guess that's me!
