Beschreibung

Hello! My name is Sahar. I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, and am traveling solo through Europe this summer for several months. I have spent the last four years working at small organic vegetable farms across the United States, and am leaving my current job helping to manage a 4 acre vegetable farm in California to take some time to travel. I have a deep appreciation and curiosity for nature and am looking forward to exploring the natural landscape wherever I end up. I enjoy working with the land as a way to experience a new place.

Though this trip I am intending to visit places I have never been before, I have traveled throughout Europe several times in my life--my family lived in Spain for a year when I was in high school. I speak English, Spanish, and Farsi.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Having worked full time as organic farmer for the past 4 years, I have experience with seeding/greenhouse work, weeding and planting, harvest and wash/pack, farmers market sales, pest and disease management, soil health, and some tractor work. I have helped with small building projects at the farm, like setting up caterpillar tunnels. I have some experience with beekeeping, as well as caring for chickens. I love animals of all kinds and would be happy to work with more. I also have experience gardening and working on smaller scale permaculture projects.

Prior to farming, I spent a year working in restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area, as both a baker and prep/line cook, as well as interfacing with the customers. I am passionate about food and enjoy cooking, especially with fresh produce.

I also have more than a decade of childcare experience, as a babysitter, camp counselor, and educator, and have worked with kids of all ages, from toddlers to high schoolers.
