Hello! My name is Rui Suzuki, and I'm a 27-year-old Japanese guy currently on a working holiday in Australia. I have a passion for travel, camping, and hiking, which has led me to explore various parts of the world. I spent 10 years playing baseball, which taught me the value of teamwork and discipline.

I’m a very organized person, and I take pride in keeping things neat and structured. Back in Japan, I worked for four years in the hospitality industry, primarily at hotels as a front desk clerk and a waiter, which helped me develop excellent communication and customer service skills.

After my time in Japan, I traveled around Southeast Asia as a backpacker, embracing new cultures and experiences. Now, I’m excited to be in Australia, where I’m continuing my adventure while also gaining new work experience.

I’m always up for meeting new people, learning new things, and enjoying the journey wherever it takes me!

One of the main reasons I came to Australia was to meet more people and improve my English. To be honest, my English level wasn't very high when I arrived, and even after more than eight months here, I haven't had many opportunities to use it, so my progress has been slower than I expected. That's why I've decided to challenge myself and fully immerse in an English-speaking environment.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

In Japan, I worked for four years at a 5-star hotel in Tokyo, where I gained experience as both a front desk clerk and a waiter. I developed strong leadership skills by training junior staff and learned how to adapt quickly to different situations. I also worked for six months at a resort hotel, where I handled duties such as room service and table service, including experience with bed-making and course meals.

In Australia, I spent six months working at a factory, where I became accustomed to early mornings and maintained a strong punctuality record. I also worked at a Japanese restaurant for six months, where I served as a kitchen supervisor, managing the team and ensuring smooth operations in the kitchen.
Also I have done two Workaways in Bellingen as a housekeeper, night manager, and gardener.

With 10 years of experience in baseball, combined with my passion for hiking, I am confident in my physical fitness and stamina. I am always looking for efficient ways to approach tasks and implement improvements.

My hobbies include travel, camping, and hiking. In Japan, I also enjoyed riding motorcycles and even did a solo trip around the country when I was a student. Throughout my school years, I was deeply involved in baseball.

I’m passionate about history and geography, and I enjoy learning about different cultures and languages. While in Australia, I’d love to try cricket, though I haven’t had the chance yet. I’m an indoor person five days a week, but I love being outdoors on the weekends. I’m also an early bird, with a routine of going to bed early and waking up early.
