About me 🌊✨
Hi everyone! I’m René, a 21-year-old guy from Nettuno, a seaside town near Rome, Italy. My true adventure started with an Erasmus program in Spain: an experience that literally changed my life, opening my eyes to the beauty of the world and its diversity.
I’m a cheerful person who loves simplicity, peace, and the ocean, but I also have a huge curiosity for everything new. To me, traveling means discovering new cultures and flavors, but above all, learning new languages to build connections with people and discover different life stories. Music is the soundtrack of my life and follows me in everything I do; I really want to learn an instrument or start creating my own music soon! 🎶
I’m also a big sports fan—I love energy and staying active. I enjoy eating healthy, though I’ll never say no to sweets! 🍰 The sea is where I feel at home; it brings me a sense of calm and balance.

Thanks to my time in Spain, I speak fluent Spanish, and now I’m eager to master English and other languages. Despite my age, I’ve already gained various work experiences that have made me flexible and hardworking. I see Workaway as the perfect opportunity to grow as a person and find positive vibes. In Australia I want to finally improve my English once and for all. Since it’s the global language, I want to be able to talk with anyone and meet new people without feeling limited. My goal is to stop mentally translating every sentence and finally start thinking in English. I also want to truly understand the lyrics of the songs I listen to instead of making up the words.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I’m a practical and versatile person when it comes to work. I’m not an “expert” in one specific field, but I have good basic skills in different areas and I’m able to adapt to almost anything.
I have a social and healthcare diploma. I worked for four years as a lifeguard at the beach during the summer. I’ve also worked as an electrician, a construction laborer, and in a supermarket. I speak Spanish and I have a basic level of English, which I plan to improve while I’m in Australia.

I’m someone who lives through music and looks for positive vibes. I don’t play any instruments yet, but I sing at the top of my lungs to anything—from EDM to reggaeton to classic Italian songs. I love the idea that music can create real connections, and I hope that one day I can create something related to music to share with people and make them happy.
In a way, it’s similar to what happens in front of a good plate of food: I’m Italian and I don’t mean to brag, but even without any formal training, I know how to cook in a way that makes people smile.
I love adrenaline and being active. Whether it’s diving off a cliff, fishing, playing sports, or getting lost in the woods, I truly love nature—and animals as well, very much. I’m also a big fan of the world of anime and the lessons they teach.
I also have a natural connection with children. Maybe it’s thanks to my mom, who is a teacher, but with kids I have fun and feel carefree. I really enjoy drawing and taking photos of landscapes. I don’t have the equipment anymore, but it’s something I truly love.
I’m ready to jump into any challenge I’ve never tried before, with the right spirit. And one last thing: my favorite color is blue. :)
