Originally from Egypt, currently backpacking all over Asia.
I do work as freelancer - make websites - so I can actually make money while traveling.
Perfect volunteer work for me is a 5 hour per day job which I'd be free after to do my computer job.
Since I work everyday with computer I prefer to volunteer doing something else though I can give a casual computer help if needed

I am a computer science graduate so I can do lot of technical work as well as teaching.
My English is also pretty good so I can teach English for children.
I am also curious and like to try doing new jobs maybe gardening, Animal care or repairing things, ...

Tent is not longer required since they now already have many big tents installed. so if you don't have… read more

There is work to be done most of the time but you will need to ask for it or try to figure something yourself or help someone already working, as no one will be bossing you around.

all the children and most of the teachers can speak English well.
I enjoyed giving little computer lessons to the kids.
accomodation is the best I've ever seen in any volunteer work. a house with two rooms each has an AC and very close to the school.

I enjoyed the work, the food and the accommodation.
The people I met there also were all friendly and nice, that was my biggest gain of the whole thing.
Arafaat is also very friendly, flexible and not at all bossy.
