Hi, I am Raktim
I am originally from India and living in Europe since last 10 years. So I consider myself a good mix of both the east and the west. In Europe I've lived in Italy, Poland and Serbia, but I'm in Milan, Italy since more or less 7 years now. For a brief period I also stayed in China.

I love hiking, camping and the great outdoors. I am one of the founding member, organizer and manager of 'Milano International Outdoor' group which is now more than 5,200 members strong group on Facebook. There I regularly organize and manage hiking, biking and outdoor trips, sometimes up to 30-40 people groups, consisting of mainly international expats and students from all over the globe living in Milan.

Apart from being and working as an Architect, I also worked for 4 years as 'International Students Services Coordinator' during my student years at Politecnico di Milano, at the International Students' Office of the university. There I was responsible for welcoming new international students, helping them in settling down in Milan and with the bureaucratic procedures, working at the front desk of the International Students' Office replying to questions and queries of the new and current students coming to Milano from all over the world. So I am perfect for reception, hospitality and front-desk jobs.

As I grew up in a small town in the countryside of Northeastern India (with mountains and hills), I really enjoy working outdoors in gardening, building projects, farms, etc. that makes me active and feel alive. I'm used to the farm life and growing vegetable garden as I worked most of my childhood in my father's vegetable gardens and in my uncle's farm full of cows, chicken, pigs as well as in their rice-paddy fields.

I also like teaching English and learning the local native language where I travel. I have a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate and native speaker proficiency in English, as I grew up bilingual. Both of my parents and my sister are teachers, so I feel really passionate about this job. I also gave a lot of private lessons to kids during my student years, so I'm well experienced in this.

I also like reading and discussing about different philosophies from Stoicism, Buddhism, Taoism to ancient texts, and attain knowledge for self-development and self-growth. I love reading books, from fiction to non-fiction, everything goes!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I am good at service sector and hospitality jobs where I have to interact and entertain people from different cultures from around the globe, having 4 years work experience at the International Students Office of my university and having volunteer hiking and camping guide experience for the International Outdoor group of Milan.

Being an architect, I'm good with a lot of computer softwares from drafting, photo and video editing, publishing, blogging, etc.

I also love teaching English. I did a lot of private tuition in Poland, Italy and India. I hold TEFL certificate as well, so I'm certified to Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Apart from all these, I really enjoy physical work. It makes me feel alive, such as working in any type of construction, farm, gardening, tending to animals etc.
