Hello!
I grew up in the mountains of Colorado in an outdoorsy family where time having fun in nature was a priority. Early on I was exposed to Spanish in a dual language program at my elementary school. I stuck with it and eventually studied French and Russian as well. My love of languages has opened up a lot of doors to travel and experience many different cultures. A lot of my richest and most profound life experiences have come from experiences abroad, and that is a big reason why I am so drawn to Workaway at this time in my life.

I am a kind-hearted individual, who loves to work hard, who is a great listener, who loves to play in the mountains and connect with like-minded folk. I also enjoy quiet time dedicated to reading or writing, in order to recharge and rest. I am eager to learn and if I commit to something I will keep at it with grit and perseverance. I think that life is short and incredibly valuable, so we must pursue these types of experiences to enrich each others lives and make the most of the time we have on this planet.

I am at a transitional stage in my life right now and am very motivated to travel , and I am seeking to learn and grow my carpentry skills, see new parts of the world, and continue my language learning. I speak English, Spanish, French, and Russian - and I look forward to learning more languages.

Many things bring me happiness, but to name a few: long runs in the mountains, a warm fire on a wintry night, learning new languages, snowboarding/skiing, cooking nice meals, tennis, rich conversation, black coffee, climbing mountains, playing the banjo, and lots more.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Carpentry:
-Experience in framing small structures
-Comfortable with a wide variety of tools, (skill saw, table saw, impact driver, drills, router, trim tool, sanders, nail gun)
-Experience painting (interior) and staining
-Experience installing siding, roof material, some interior trim carpentry
***Overall I would not consider myself an expert in any of these areas, however over the past year I have gained a lot of experience in carpentry and look forward to continuing to learn and improve these skills

General/other:
-Experience in planting trees, shrubs, flowers
-Experience in designing a fence, harvesting wood for the fence in the forest, preparing post holes, installing the fence, installing the fencing, staining the fence, and designing/creating 2 gates for the fence
-Very comfortable in the kitchen, very much enjoy creating delicious and nutritious meals for myself and others. Some baking as well.

Languages:
-English (native language)
-Spanish (fluent, really comfortable communicating in Spanish)
-French (proficient, can hold a complex conversation, read/write)
-Russian (elementary proficiency)

Previous experience abroad:
-Spent 6 months living and working as an intern in Buenos Aires, Argentina
-Studied abroad in St. Petersburg, Russia
-Traveled by bicycle in France, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, and Belgium for 2 months
-Spent 3 months living in the Haute Savoie region of France honing in my French language skills and adventuring in the mountains

Education/occupation:
-I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Affairs from the University of Colorado (CU)
-At CU I also minored in Spanish and studied French/Russian
-I have worked in various restaurants, for a non profit medical clinic, for the county health department, for a ski resort, and most recently in carpentry

-skiing/snowboarding, both in the resort and in the backcountry
-running, mostly trail running
-tennis (both watching and playing)
-banjo (I'm a beginner, but it's very fun)
-biking (mountain biking and also bikepacking in the desert, mountains, and beyond)

-music (enjoying live music, listening to music, talking about music)
