Hi there!
My name is Ruby. I'm a lover of all things nature (hiking, taking care of my plants, etc) and of course, travelling! I'm a friendly person who works great on a team, but I also enjoy meeting new people and seeking out adventure. So far I’ve experienced two Workaways- one in Mexico and another in Costa Rica. I also have experience working at a hotel resort by the Grand Canyon, a camp counselor, and as a nurse aide. Although I've already visited a few countries and close to half of the US states, I'm still itching to see more of the world! My current goals are to engage in cultural exchange, improve on my Spanish, learn how to grow food, and spend more time in the countryside (can't go wrong with stargazing!).

Was könntest du arbeiten?

As of right now, I have over 7 years in customer service experience. I've worked at restaurants, retail, the biggest gas station in the world, and now I'm doing seasonal work at a glamping resort in Arizona! As a result, I have experience interacting with people of all walks of life, especially at my current job, where I consistently cross paths with travelers from other states and countries.
Additionally, I've tended to and grown plants since I was very little, so I have experience in taking care of all sorts of plants, especially of the desert variety. I already know how to grow plants from seeds, propagate, create stem cuttings, and much more. I've also taken a horticulture class in university which aided me with more plant knowledge.
I'm also interested in and have: painted walls, refurbished furniture, and helped built houses with Habitat for Humanity.
Some of my other skills include conversational Spanish, my CPR and nurse aide certifications, and tending to and teaching young children.

Was noch ...

One of my goals this year is to see the Milky Way! I think the universe is fascinating, but I've actually never been camping before and have lived too close to city lights my entire life to properly see the night sky.
I'm also an avid fan of good music- all kinds. Music in English, Spanish, Korean, French, you name it.
