Hello, I am back home in Canada after living and working in Switzerland for the last 7 years. I speak English, French, German and Italian. I used to be a teacher for modern languages. vom Host (Come and enjoy gardening, in ...) für Workawayer ()

Pierre is an excellent Cat, Pet- and Housesitter! We could enjoy our holidays, in the knowledge, our home and animals are well cared for.
Everything was well done! The plant look well, the cat and the guinea pigs well fed. The house nice an clean. And as we came home a nice tabbouleh salad and kafta was ready for us to eat!

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Come and enjoy gardening, in ...)

What a great 5 weeks experience!
Christian & Maya, along with Ivy, Frieda (the 2 beautiful and intelligent cats), the 4 guinepigs and the beaver, are amazing, loving and nurturing.
The nature, the house, the healthy food, the environment are beyond description.
I highky recommand Christian and Maya.
Go for it!

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Share your musical skills and ...)

As planned, I stayed a week with Nicole (my second experience). This 82 energetic, cultured, knowledgeable, caring and welcoming "young" lady is amazing. I learnt a lot from her about gardening, cooking, nurturing conversation, linguistic and ecological awareness.
Nicole has a big heart and a sense of global issues, health and education. At times… read more we had some challenges to overcome.
Nicole manages pretty well her big lovely house as well as her beautiful garden.

She has many stories to share and much to give to the world and to younger generation about our natural resources such as water, food, environment etc.
THANK YOU Nicole, you have a heart of gold. Besides you are a loving, caring and communicative person. Your meals were delicious and tasty. Your life experience is worth writing, filming and telling for generations to come.

If I allow myself to give some tips and piece of advice to the future workawayers, I would say the following:
- Once you know how Nicole functions, discover HER priorities, LISTEN once well what she wants, and HOW work should be done according to her clear instructions, she will be on your side and you will have a lovely, productive and meaningful experience at her place and with her. At times, she can be very demanding, in a right, logical and fair way.
- Discuss with Nicole one week at a time, ahead of time about the work to be done. BUT the work should be done PERFECTLY and PROMPTLY.
- Do not forget to close doors, turn off the lights, one moving from one room to an another.
- You will have a nice apartment to stay, private, clean and calm.
- Try to adapt to Nicole's way of being and doing and not the opposite.

FOR TGE RECORDS (I write this in a playful and joyful way):
Once we were talking about Napoleon (by the way, she does not like his war expeditions), I said to Nicole,The Emperor Bonaparte would have hired you to be the Manager of his his "Grand Armée".
Elle a vraiment un sens aigu de gestion, active and she will always have work for you to do (between 4 to 5 hours a day, fair enough). She is so ACTIVE and has plenty of great ideas but she is lacking of time, I am sure your help will be appreciated.

Summary: I encourage you to apply and stay with Nicole at least 3 weeks. You will love it...Challenges might be awarded...
