Growing up in a small household with many siblings in the small mountain town of Lyons, Colorado, has ingrained in me an appreciation for the outdoors and the joy of hands-on work. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Rockies, I learned early on that there's no better classroom than nature itself. The simplicity of life in Lyons and the value of hard work taught me that happiness can often be found in the tangible results of laboring outdoors, whether it's tending to a garden, building a shelter, or simply taking in the breathtaking scenery. This upbringing has instilled in me a lifelong passion for working with my hands in the open air, and to share the wonders of the world with others through my travels.

I’m taking a couple of gap years before I return to studying bioengineering, and I've had the privilege of immersing myself in the world of hands-on organic farming. Working the soil, nurturing crops, and witnessing the symbiosis of nature has been a grounding and humbling experience. Additionally, I've delved into projects focused on installing renewable energy sources, further solidifying my commitment to sustainable practices. These endeavors have not only broadened my skill set but also deepened my understanding of the delicate balance between science and nature.
