Hello! My name is Nate, I am 22 years old and I am from Scotland!

I believe I am (and continue to try to be) enthusiastic and positive, and find satisfaction in hard work and community-building. I am very active, with my main hobbies being surfing, rugby and running! I also love events management, working as the social secretary for the surf club at Edinburgh University where the club broke membership and attendance records! I found a love for working in communities in this, and hostel work seems just that!

I love languages! They are a gateway into matriculating into communities, and I find a lot can be learned from the expressions individuals use, the tonality in which they speak, and the phrasing. Learning languages is great to understand this better, creating stronger social and community bonds, and therefore something I am very interested in!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I find my skills to be socially based - my undergraduate degree was in anthropology and sustainable development, my extracurricular work was as a social secretary organising and managing events for 200-300 people every week alongside my studies.

Over last summer (June-October) I worked as a chef at the most remote pub in the UK, in the Scottish Highlands. This pub is community owned and also run by a community board, granting me further experience in community contribution and hard work.

My love of looking to develop communities is my best attribute, working happily hard to do everything I can to encourage others, build social settings and working as part of a team!

Having graduated University at 21, and coming from a small town in the north of Scotland, expanding my views is of great importance to me. I truly am open to learning about anything, with a keen mind and enthusiasm to learn at the ready. My openness to other views, hobbies, work, and communities is a strong attribute of mine, one which i cherish and look at act upon! I would be happy to conduct any sort of interview if required, and begin to build trust with a host!
