Hello, I’m Hannah & I’m really excited about meeting brilliant people and discovering new experiences. My first WorkAway was on a beautiful farm in Uruquay in 2019 which filled me with inspiration to contribute and share experiences while traveling.

During 2020 I relocated from South East England to Scotland and now live by the sea, I've met many brilliant people through outdoor swimming (Sea/Rivers/Lochs) and biking the trails (Cairngorm national park is nearby). Weekends I will follow the weather explore new parts of bonnie Scotland, camping in my van. I'm also spending sometime on renovating my small home, I've done some rewiring/decorating and fitted a kitchen.

I have a dear old Basset hound, Martia who adores the beach as much as I do. I would love to adopt more dogs and animals I don't have the room and feel I would be able to help more animals through volunteering.

Meeting new people and listening to their story is so enriching. I strive to make everyday a great day. We're here for a good not time not along time so even on the tough days it's important to find a pocket full of happiness.

This year I'm participating again in a fundraising 100km bike/hike to support a wonderful local charity (Outfit Moray) that makes outdoors activities available to all, and deliver outdoor activity learning in schools.

I have become very mindful of litter and waste, the last seabird I rescued had plastic stuck on its beak and was weak from hunger. I have reduced the amount of packing I consume and shop at my local "zero waste" refill store. I buy pre-owned furniture and clothes, I recently salvaged some building materials for my home from my neighbours rubbish.

I have a range of experiences from my personal & professional life from which I've learned from and grown. I want to be able to share skills, knowledge and experiences positively and be of good use and support for others.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

My background - I left school and trained as an Electrician (domestic and industrial), then went on to train as a Cable Jointer (working in electricity distribution networks). So I have lots of experience of physically hard work. I’m always willing to do a good job at whatever I do and am happy working alone or part of a team.
As a teenager I spent my weekends working at stables looking after horses. I’m more than happy being outdoors in any weather or indoors.
My first WorkAway on a small farm in Uruquay has really inspired me, I had a great experience looking after the garden and land, caring for the animals and helping with jobs in the house - cooking, cleaning. I've really enjoyed growing my own vegetables at home and cooking with seasonal produce.
I'm presently working for Electricity Distribution Company as a Project Manager for new connections to the network. I have an HNC in Electrical Engineering, Leadership & Management Qualification, Experience of managing a nationwide team of electrical engineers. With this I use excel/word/sharepoint etc
