Hello my name is Marlow! I grew up in London but now live in Glasgow, and I'm going to be living in Spain at the beginning of the new year, with the hopes of finding somewhere I could call home. I love Spanish culture and would love to learn more about it wherever possible!
I'm an outgoing, social person and love to connect with others. I enjoy living as part of a community or a tight-knit group, being able to share in communal cooking and create clean, homely living spaces. I am also super into music, and I love a book, and I have always loved animals and the outdoors, so any opportunity to work in this field or to get involved in hikes/climbing/camping or anything like this would be great!
I am very passionate about languages and would really love to gain fluency in Spanish. I am currently at an intermediate level and would like to practise with other workawayers when I can. I am also a qualified english teacher and so I'm happy to help out others who would like to learn! As someone who is learning a language right now as well, I definitely know how hard it can be.
Throughout my life I have been involved in various construction and DIY projects involving stuff like bricklaying, setting windows, plastering walls and ceilings, woodwork, welding and other smaller jobs. Although I am no expert I know how to use most tools and consider myself quite practically minded! Always up for getting my hands dirty and doing hard work. I am also very passionate about the environment and so I'm always open to eco-friendly projects to be involved in whilst being away.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have a little experience in farming and DIY, I am definitely no expert. However I am able to work with most tools and lend a hand in most sorts of construction. I've been helping my dad who is a technician for most of my life and have a range of skills that I have picked up, even if I am not confident enough to lead on them. I am an English Literature student and so I'd love to help with any sort of writing, creative or not (I would love to help write or edit for any projects regarding a workaway), as well as offering book recommendations (although sadly only in English, I haven't yet delved into any Literature written in Spanish). Despite not having too much experience in many of the jobs advertised in the workaways I am always willing to learn and put in hard work. And I am also a trained bartender if you feel like you need a drink made for you at the ends of a hard days work hehe.

Was noch ...

I make music in my spare time and play some instruments as well. I also love to play sport (although not football) mainly just as a way of relaxing and socialising. After moving to Scotland I've spent a lot of my time camping and on walks, I feel like being in the outside world is so good for your mind. Looking back I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't moved to somewhere where i can do this sort of thing regularly (even if it is a little cold).
