Hello - I’m Lucy! I’m 22 years old and I'm from northern England. I was born and raised in Yorkshire but moved to Manchester for university. I have a degree in Modern History and Politics.

My family love the outdoors - we spent holidays hiking, skiing, canoeing, cycling and exploring nature in the UK and Europe. These experiences have allowed me to appreciate the natural world - I love animals and being amongst nature!
I also like city life. I’m very interested in culture and history - I love visiting museums and sites of cultural significance and trying new cuisines.

My Hobbies:
- I love football and I played in a girls team when I was younger. My Dad and I support Blackburn Rovers Football Club and go to watch the games together - football is very popular in England!
- At university I learnt how to play rugby and made lots of new friends.
- I like running - currently I’m training to run a half-marathon.
- I love to go on long walks with my dog and my family - we like to spot wildlife.
- I love the seaside and being by the beach - reading my book on the beach and listening to the waves, exploring rockpools and swimming in the sea - but the sea in England is freezing!
- I sing in a choir and can play a little bit of piano and guitar. I like to watch live music with my friends.
- I like to knit and paint.
- In the evenings I like to relax - play boardgames and card games with my family or read a good book.

I would love to learn some Italian and experience Italian culture. I would like to listen to your stories about life!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I want to do WorkAway to improve my Italian. I learnt a little Italian at school but I am a beginner. It would be great if you could teach me some Italian - in return I can teach you English! I would love to learn how to make some authentic Italian meals to bring home to my family! I can also help by cooking some English meals (not all English food is bad!) and cakes, for example, Victoria Sponge cake!

I can help with childcare and teaching English to children/adults. I was born and have always lived in Northern England so am a native speaker. I also teach/tutor English to students in England to help them pass their school exams so would be happy to help you practise!

I have experience babysitting and looking after children so I am happy to help with this as part of my WorkAway visit. I can also help with housework and I love gardening! I love dogs and animals so would love to help by looking after them. I have a dog at home (she is an old greyhound) who I love very much! I cannot live with cats or be around horses because I am allergic.

I am happy to learn new skills too!

I cannot drive - in Manchester there is great public transport and everyone travels by bike! It would be nice to stay somewhere that has good public transport or with a family who are happy to provide lifts in their car or have a bike I could borrow.
