Hi there!

I'm Lorna, an outgoing, positive person with a passion for travel and meeting new people! In grew up in Dubai to British parents but moved to Bristol, England in 2020 to do Psychology at university and have been living here ever since. Working in hospitality throughout uni and afterwards allowed me to save up for the trip of a lifetime backpacking around Southeast Asia, which I embarked upon with my best friend for 4 months and which completely lived up to everything I had dreamed. We travelled through 7 countries from Vietnam to Indonesia, and left with enough stories for a lifetime. However, it left me with the awful realisation that I am absolutely in love with travel and must leave the comforts of home to explore whilst I'm still young and free! I love eco-conscious projects as I'm passionate about climate activism, even writing my dissertation on the perceptions of climate activists: a mammoth effort I'm sure you can imagine. I'm very friendly and can pretty much chat to anyone about anything (that's a warning). And I'm willing to do pretty much anything as long as I'm shown how!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I would say I'm a skilful and adventurous cook, often taking inspiration from recipes I see online or from friends and making them my own. I always to try to use ingredients I already have in new and interesting ways and often challenge myself by picking up unique ingredients at the supermarket and forming dishes around them. I speak English fluently and can speak a bit of conversational French (but have trouble understanding it, no doubt due to learning it through school). I am social-media-savvy and have always had a passion for video editing and filmography since I was a child, so would love to be involved in content creation wherever possible. I've helped my mum out in many-a-DIY-project throughout the years so also have some idea of how to paint, polish, sand etc. Further, in the past 4 years I've worked as a server, bartender, fast food line cook and bottomless brunch runner so have a long list of hospitality skills under my belt (and a lot of stories to tell ;P). Finally, I've always been good at connecting with people so would love a job with lots of friendly interaction involved, whether that be with guests, customers or fellow helpers :)

Was noch ...

I love to sing and dance at any opportunity. I can technically play the flute but have not in years! I'm very curious so love to learn and share in other people's interests. I listen to mainly house, indie and afrobeats but love any music really. My main hobbies are reading (again, any genre really) and watching films, of which I then watch behind the scenes, reviews and 'what you missed' videos about (I am obsessed with cinematography).
