Hello everyone! Lola over here - originally from Spain, but I've been living in the UK for the last 4 years.

I'm a 27 year old solo-traveller driven by a strong desire to learn more about the world and a huge passion on education. Travelling for me is an INCREDIBLE way of immersing myself in different cultures and get to know new people, new ways of seeing and experimenting the world. Travelling gives me the opportunity to put myself in an uncomfortable position (in a good way), where not everything is familiar, and where I can learn more about the world.

While I'm currently looking for my first workaway experience (exciting!), I have volunteered throughout all my university years: supporting building houses in the Mountains surrounding Ollantaytambo, Peru, and driving hygiene programs in local villages; helping with multimedia projects in Colombia (research and interviews for a documentary) and helping running an orphanage and teaching English and Spanish in Tanzania. I've also done some mentoring both in Spain and the UK and used to work as an au pair when I first moved to London - I do love being surrounded by kids!

At the moment, I'm working as a Project / Events Manager for a company focusing in Executive Education - but I'll be taking a break from it as I'm currently planning a trip to Vietnam and South East Asia starting on September until December (I've missed my travelling days from uni!). I've never been on this side of the world, so really really looking forward to get soaked in the culture.

I have a background on Journalism and Philosophy (as those were my majors in university), and I would like to focus my next steps on International Development (focusing on education and community projects). While I don't know much about sustainability, I'm eager to learn a lot more on this topic and connect a bit more with nature and better ways of treating the world we live in.

Huge fan of reading and writing, volleyball, dancing and videography/photography (getting a bit more into it lately) - But what I enjoy the most is trying new things, so looking forward to discovering even more!

I love learning new languages - I've been postponing it a little in the past couple of years due to "lack of time", but I want to start prioritizing it again. At the end of the day, languages are expressions of cultures and the way we understand each other - so I'd love to learn as much and as many as I can! :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I think my main skill comes from my positivity and eagerness to learn - not sure if I'm the fastest learner, but I'll definitely put my all into it! I also enjoy getting along with people and helping however I can. But to tell a bit more:

- I have previous experience working with kids (I used to work as an au pair, but I've also helped organizing summer camps and activities)

- I have previous experience teaching both English and Spanish to different level and ages (I don't have qualifications to teach any of them though)

- Knowledge on Project Managing and Events Organization (2.5 years of experience that can be put to use too!)

- Basic knowledge of carpentry (I helped on a carpentry workshop while I worked for a charity)

- I have a background in Journalism and LOVE writing, so I can help with any content generation in social media, helping building a website or even doing some multimedia initiatives (combining video, photography and stories)

- I really enjoy being outdoors and I'm fairly fit, so happy to help with more labour tasks too.

- Really interested in learning more about sustainability, gardening and farming in general (but I must confess I'm your typical city girl, so consider me a beginner for this one!
