Hi, we are Liam (30) from Guernsey and Amber (26) from England. We both came over separately to a ranch in northern British Columbia, where we met, with the intention of traveling around after a few months however we both fell in love with the place and never ended up moving on from here. Amber moved here in January 2020 and Liam in June 2022. Amber is now a permanent resident of Canada but Liam's work & holiday visa ends May 31st 2025, so after we finish another haying season here in September 2024 we have decided to pack our bags and explore more of Canada before returning to the UK.

During our time here we have become proficient in managing and maintaining the ranch, which focuses on beef cattle, hay production and shetland ponies. We have gained knowledge in basic tractor mechanics, livestock husbandry and management and operating machinery (mostly tractors and haying equipment).
We are both hardworking, self-starting individuals who love to get stuck in working individually or as a group. We would love to learn new skills and also apply previous skills we have learnt in our time in Canada so far into new places. We have a shared love for all things outdoors, ranch and animals and are very excited to experience new things.

A little more info on us as individuals:
Liam: Before moving to Canada, I had 10+ years’ experience in Digital Marketing and Project Management. Since living here the last two years I’ve had the chance to try the more practical side of working life. Living and working on a ranch has given me the opportunity to learn a wide range of new skills including, daily care of animals (cows, horses, chickens, goats, dogs & cats), operating and maintenance of field equipment (John Deere & Ford tractors, discing, harrowing, seeding, mowing, raking, hauling hay) and fence building to name but a few!
I’ve been lucky enough to have my own horse during my stay and have slowly started putting into practice techniques and methods I’ve learnt attending horsemanship clinics enabling me to ride with confidence (this is very much still a work in progress!)
Given my background in all things digital I’m always on hand to help with technical questions on website development or social media!

Amber: After finishing an animal management course at college, I set up and ran my own self-employed dog grooming business for 4 years before coming to Canada. I have been around horses from a young age in England but after coming to Canada a spark reignited for me in my love of horses through western riding and groundwork. I have attended multiple horsemanship clinics whilst here, including some with Tom Ryan, at Cardinal Ranch and a 2-week colt starting clinic. Although I enjoy riding, I have completely fallen in love with groundwork focusing on natural horsemanship with Parelli elements.
I had a small dairy goat business for a few years here too, so have lots of knowledge floating around my head about goats, it would be nice if I could put it to some use.

Oh.. also I bought a Labrador puppy in 2022, her name is Sunday. She has grown up to be a very well-behaved farm dog who never strays far from my side. She's a gem around livestock and animals, and I'm excited for her to see the sights and smell the smells on our adventures before moving back to the UK with me.

We could ramble on for days, for any more specific questions about us, give us a message.
