I’m hoping to explore Yukon and Alaska by land, hiking, camping, and photographing until the end of August. I also have plans to visit Banff and Jasper.

Hi! I'm Haruka from Japan. Thank you for your interest in me!
I grew up on a tea farm and have always loved nature and animals. I’ve been in Canada since June 2022, working as a web developer while traveling and capturing the beauty of Canada’s landscapes and wildlife through photography. I’m also passionate about creative projects and love exploring new things.

- My Experience
I have a background in education—I used to be a high school teacher in Japan, teaching biology and chemistry, and also volunteered at elementary schools. I also spent a year in Rwanda as a science teacher for local schools. In Japan, I also worked on a kiwi farm, and in Canada, I spent five months WWOOFing on a haskap farm. Besides that, I’ve worked as a kitchen helper at sushi restaurants and as a product photographer at a bead warehouse. Right now, I’m working at an Airbnb in Whitehorse.
- A Little About Me
People often describe me as calm, kind, and detail-oriented. I’m very curious and love trying new things with a positive attitude! In my free time, I enjoy photography, hiking, sports, cooking, traveling, and playing the piano.

- What I’m Looking For
I’d love to be somewhere surrounded by nature and animals rather than in a big city. I’m happy to help with farm work, animal care, or anything else that needs to be done! I can also assist with computer-related tasks, website design, or photography and videography if needed.

- One Thing to Note
I work remotely for a Japanese company, so I need to be online for work Sunday to Thursday in the evenings (Japan time). Because of that, I won’t be available during those hours, but I’d be more than happy to help out during the day and on weekends!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

- I have a teaching license from Japan and have taught high school students in biology and chemistry.
- Worked as a teaching and lab assistant in Rwanda for one year.
- Currently working remotely as a web developer/designer, with strong time management and self-discipline.
- I have extensive agricultural experience from working on my family’s tea farm in Japan, a kiwi farm for one year, and currently as a wwoofer on a haskap farm in Vernon since May 2024.
- Love animals and am experienced in taking care of pets and farm animals.
- Passionate about nature photography and enjoy outdoor activities.
- Experienced with children, having many nieces and nephews.
