My time traveling through Workaway has honestly changed my life. The summer of 2021 I worked and stayed with two different hosts in New Mexico, made some incredible friends, and learned my value as a person outside of the traditional capitalist system. I love being able to contribute my skills, see the fruits of my labor in real time, build community with other like-minded folks, and truly learn how to rest, play, and just be. Being lonely while solo-traveling can be very real, which is why Workaway has been such great way for me to make friends and connections. I am now committed to making time for travel every year!

My full-time job is as a carpenter & welder at a theater, where I build scenery. I'm so blessed to do this work - it's what I studied in school, and is my dream job. I am also a professional beekeeper from spring-early fall and would love to tend to your colonies or help you set up hives of your own. My passions include conservation and ecology - I used to teach environmental science to middle and high school students. I have also worked in food service and love to cook for others. Teach me your favorite recipes! I'm a lifelong vegetarian and will cook you some delicious dishes. One of my dreams is to join or create an intentional & sustainable co-housing community where we live off the land, grow food and cook together, share skills and resources, raise animals, and support our friends and families.

I am eager to meet people and share experiences. I'm looking forward to travelling to new places and learning about cultures around the world! I take covid seriously and am fully vaccinated/boosted. If there's any information you need or requirements you have for staying with you, I would love to hear about them.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I'm a professional carpenter and beekeeper. I love to build things and am proficient in wood craftsmanship and steel welding - I build scenery for theatres in Portland, Oregon USA. I've also worked in food service for years, and am very comfortable in a kitchen. I have experience working with children in an educational setting, as I used to be an outdoor educator, and worked at summer camps before that. I know how to sew, have a decent green thumb, and am a very fast learner of new skills!

I am somewhat introverted, which means I love to spend time being social with others, but also greatly value alone time to recharge. I enjoy reading, hiking, board games, snowboarding, cooking, and woodworking projects. My household has been brewing kombucha, and I am excited about learning to make beer and cider as well. One of my greatest passions is partner dancing - I have been dancing for 11 years now (blues, fusion, swing, salsa, hip hop) and it brings me great joy as well as a strong sense of community!
