Whether it's through coaching, organizing community projects, engaging in causes, or simply sharing a meal and a laugh, I find fulfillment in positively impacting the communities I visit. My travels are not just about seeing new places, but about leaving a positive mark on them, helping to ensure that the beauty and diversity of these places can be sustained for future generations. While I have not been able to achieve these aspirations, I believe joining Workaway is the gateway to do so.

My professional expertise ensures that I can manage multiple aspects of any project from start to finish, ensuring successful outcomes and high levels of satisfaction.

Collaboration is one of my core strengths; I thrive in team settings where cooperation and joint efforts lead to exceptional results. This skill is particularly valuable in event planning, where coordinating with various stakeholders is essential.

Graphic design is another area of proficiency, enabling me to create impactful visuals that enhance communication and engagement for events and projects. My skills in crafts and home decor help in adding aesthetic value, which can transform spaces and enrich event experiences.

I also have interests in house and pet sitting, DIY projects, home renovation projects, interior design, redesign, home organization, and personal shopping. These passions allow me to apply creative solutions to enhance living spaces and fulfill personal needs.

While I have a solid foundation in advocacy work, I have found limited opportunities to engage in these activities during my travels. However, I am eager to reconnect with advocacy roles, particularly those focused on human rights and social justice. I am committed to using my skills to support and promote initiatives that aim to uplift and empower marginalized communities.

For relaxation and team building, I enjoy card and board games, which not only help me unwind but also strengthen community bonds. My ability to bring humor and positivity into any situation makes me a valuable team member, contributing to a lively and supportive atmosphere.

I enjoy playing many popular American board games such as Monopoly, Spades, Uno, Battleship, Scrabble, Backgammon, and Pictionary, and am open to learning more. I'm always happy to have a good time with others. My interests extend to watching movies, dabbling in photography, and indulging in reading various genres. I also love dancing and am currently learning the art of writing and podcasting. Volunteering and traveling are passions of mine, alongside shopping, exploring street art, and engaging in adventure sports like rafting. I have a unique interest in wig shopping and sewing, and I enjoy thrifting for unique finds. Eating and trying new foods, enjoying quiet moments, listening to podcasts, and continually learning new things enrich my life further.

Vom Workawayer () für Host (We need help promoting our ...)

Volunteering with the Ama Team in Kathmandu was an incredible experience that left a lasting impression on me. This week-long stint provided a fantastic introduction to WorkAway, and it was a privilege to be part of such a dedicated and passionate team.
Leadership and Team Dynamics The team is led by Amanda, a visionary who is truly committed to… read more making a difference in Kathmandu. Amanda runs a YouTube channel dedicated to the city, so she is essentially an unofficial ambassador, showcasing her deep care for both the country and its people. Her home was open and welcoming, fostering a sense of community among volunteers. The Ama Team, including Priyanka, Manu, Suziet, and Mayuree, are all working on various projects aimed at improving conditions in Kathmandu.
Project Involvement During my week with the team, I worked on a future NGO project focused on planting bay leaf trees on rooftops. This initiative aims to address urban challenges and the health and environmental impacts caused by pollution. Although the project structure is still in development, the model shows great potential for achieving the team’s goals.
Community and Collaboration One of the highlights of the week was the environment of camaraderie and collaboration that the Ama Team cultivated. We had structured project time, but there was also ample opportunity for individual pursuits and relaxation. Meals were provided daily, and we enjoyed communal dining with engaging conversations.
Memorable Experiences I was fortunate to work with amazing WorkAwayers like Stephanie, Richa, and Mayuri. Together, we created many wonderful memories. Nothing like girl talk! Ama organized an excursion for an afternoon getaway, enhancing our experience of Kathmandu. The property itself is home to adorable goats and nearby cows, adding to the charm of the stay. The mountain views from every room, especially the rooftop, were breathtaking and a constant reminder of the importance of our work. On a personal note, the home is near a hospital so Ama is able to provide support to a few families in ways that are practical and meaningful.
Important Considerations It’s essential to read the entire overview provided before arriving. I missed a couple of key points, such as the policy on smoking, but the team was understanding of my respiratory issues. The home does practices conservation. An individual water donation is suggested and appreciated to help manage the water supply. This wasn’t initially apparent to me until I experienced the need firsthand.
Final Thoughts The Ama Team is making a significant impact, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute. I highly recommend this volunteer experience to others. The team’s dedication and the beautiful setting make for an enriching and unforgettable journey.

Koi was a real delight to host. Her work is really top-notch and she's easy to have around. She just fit right in and everyone enjoyed her energy and wisdom. She helped in so many ways. Really amazing volunteer.
