Beschreibung

Hi! My name is Kira and I’m 24 years old and graduated from the University of Oregon where I studied environmental science, geography, and political science. I am currently getting my master’s degree in sustainable energy at Johns Hopkins University, and graduate June 2026! And right now I have officially started my business in the countryside of Japan🥳

I was born in Tanzania and lived in Australia for about 10 years before I moved to Oregon independently when I was 15, and I've been traveling since the day I was born, and have no been to about 41 countries! I've led a beautiful and rich life immersing in cultures all over the world, gaining wisdom from all the places and people I have met, and have been sharing my adventures on my social media channels 💛!!!

I love meeting people, exploring new places, studying conservation and ecology, teaching kids about the environment, and spreading appreciation and love for our planet. I am known to be a very positive and worldly girl!

I am currently in Japan and have been here since June 2023 on a working holiday visa! as of Jan 2025, I obtained a business manager visa and am starting an exciting project leading cultural immersion tours in Japan (more details soon when I launch my website!)

I have spent time living and working in Tokyo, Nagasaki, Kyoto, and Hiroshima! I can't wait to make friends and immerse myself in various cultures along the way.

Although I have never specifically taught English, my experience and skills in teaching other subjects have prepared me to create lessons for all kinds of students. As for learning a language, I have always wanted to be able to communicate and understand other languages in the world, and believe that immersion in a country is key to doing that. I learned French in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, where I was born, but when I moved to Australia I forgot most of it. I would love to pick it up again.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have experience teaching students and taking care of kids, farming, designing green city infrastructure, waitressing and bartending, surviving in the wilderness, and studying ecosystems.
I studied abroad in Peru and learned about conservation, identifying plants and insects and other animals, conducting scientific experiments, and doing outdoor field work. During this time I developed so much love for science and research.
In this past year I had the opportunity to teach over 100 students in a beautiful forest in Oregon, and I developed amazing connections with the students and discovered that teaching could be my calling. My passionate, hardworking, hyper, and optimistic personality has given me the ability to connect with kids and people that share the same energy, and I strongly believe what you put into the world is what you will receive.
I have over 8 years of customer service experience that has further developed my interpersonal skills, and I love to talk about the future, listen to stories, and help people in any way I can. I also am a bartender and have a vision of me traveling the world, teaching kids in nature, and making cocktails for my coworkers at the end of the day. Wouldn't that be ideal?

Was noch ...

I have a love for ceramics and someday dream of having my own studio and teaching others how to make beautiful things out of clay. Doing art has always been my meditation, and I also love to write, and have been considering making a youtube channel to document my life for the next few years as an outlet for my creativity. Also, I want to emphasize how important nature is to me. Being immersed in the outdoors, backpacking, and exploring new places will forever be my priority in life. As for board games, I love playing chess, Chinese checkers, poker, and all kinds of card games. I also LOVE music festivals and concerts and would love to go see some amazing artists on my travels.
