Hi there!

I am extremely easy-going, good-natured, and always enthusiastic. With several years professional experience in the hospitality industry, I can definitely tell you that I am a social person who excels in any role wherein I work with the public. At the same time I love independent, solo work, and on previous farm stays have greatly appreciated the chance to explore that.

I've spent the past five years traveling around North America, and mainly living out of my minivan. I work the summers in Canada and try to spend the winters wherever the sun is. Throughout my travels here I've had the chance to explore a variety of work experiences - such as animal husbandry, sustainable farming, natural building, and hostel work - and I'd love to continue that, with a specific interest on off-grid sustainability. Above all else I'm seeking to engage with the places and people around me and have a deeper experience than solely passing through.

I don't really know what I'm doing with myself, but I know the world is beautiful and I'd like to see as much of it as I can.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I'm a strong writer, a fast learner, and above all else, a friendly person to have around.

TIME MANAGEMENT/ORGANIZATION: I usually work in bars and restaurants, and am a hard, diligent worker, especially under pressure. I love the rush of the hospitality industry and the connections to the public that if offers, and am always interested in any roles that fit this! From several years in this industry, I have cultivated a strong sense of time-management, organization, and the skill to self-start and self-manage.

ANIMAL HUSBANDRY: In my professional life, I have worked independently with dogs, from daycares to grooming salons, and am comfortable managing their care, working with them in large groups, and handling some behavioral interactions. Through work exchanges, I have spent a lot of time on farms where animal husbandry was key.
I have experience mucking stables, feeding farm animals, and grooming horses. I have some experience riding horses, and am keen to develop that further wherever applicable. I have spent weeks moving sheep from pasture to pasture, caring for chicks and ducklings, and providing all care for a variety of fowl (guinea, ducks, chickens, geese, peacocks).

HOSTELS: Apart from my time spent in hostels, I've also spent time volunteering in exchange for a room. My duties included welcoming guests, checking them in, handling payments, maintaining the cleanliness of all shared areas, and prepping breakfasts.

NATURAL BUILDING: I have experience working with adobe, hyper adobe, and cob; I feel comfortable enough with that knowledge to teach some of it too. I have dedicated time to constructing earthbag houses, implementing rainwater collection systems, and establishing composts.

CONSTRUCTION: Here my knowledge is green, but I am interested in learning more always. I have constructed fences (for sheep pens, and to keep invasive species out), built bird houses, repaired doors, and created shims for earthbag houses. I feel comfortable with quite a few power tools. I would like to learn more.


Above all, I am always keen and open to learning new skills. I am adaptable, and confident in my ability to rise to the challenge of any new task.

Was noch ...

Although space is limited living in a minivan, I always have Catan, chess, puzzles, and several decks of cards on me!

I love to hike, bike, explore, take photos, practice yoga, workout, birdwatch, read, write, bake, kayak, canoe, learn about new plants & new skills. I'm interested in canning/other methods of food preservation, and off-grid living. I'm interested in trail living and horse care. I'm also very interested in the hospitality industry and always looking to enhance my experience and knowledge therein.
