Hi there!

I am extremely easy-going, good-natured, and always enthusiastic. With several years professional experience in the hospitality industry, I can definitely tell you that I am a social person who excels in any role wherein I work with the public. At the same time I love independent, solo work, and on previous farm stays have greatly appreciated the chance to explore that.

Pre-pandemic, I spent a year travelling around the continent and living in my minivan. Moving into this summer I'd like to continue to do so wherever is safe and accessible within Canada. Workaway is a cultural exchange and that's why I choose to travel through this site - there's nothing more I'd love than to learn about other cultures, other lifestyles, and have the chance to talk to and connect with new, diverse people. I'm super curious about how people across Canada live their lives and interact with their unique landscapes, and facing solo travel during social restrictions has me starved for the chance to safely engage with new people.

I'm a good writer, a quick editor, and a fast learner.

Otherwise, I'm fit and have worked independently at a doggy daycare, where I was left in charge of anywhere between four to twenty seven dogs for the entire day. I am confident in my ability to manage groups of dogs and interested in continuing this work with animals through helping on a farm or with kennels. Having done a few farm stays, I can also add that I'm keen to learn more about horses and be involved in their care and riding.

I usually serve in restaurants, and am a hard, diligent worker, especially under pressure. Furthermore, I absolutely love the rush of the hospitality industry and the connections to the public that it offers, and am always interested in helping in any roles that fit this! I always miss hospitality work when I'm traveling.

Above all, I am always open to learning new skills. I'm game, I'm here, I'm able, I'm ready. I am adaptable, and confident in my ability to rise to the challenge of any new task.

Although space is limited living in a minivan, I always have Catan, chess, puzzles, and several decks of cards on me!

I love to hike, bike, explore, take photos, practice yoga, workout, birdwatch, read, write, bake, kayak, canoe, learn about new plants & new skills. I'm interested in canning/other methods of food preservation, and off-grid living. I'm interested in trail living and horse care. I'm also very interested in the hospitality industry and always looking to enhance my experience and knowledge therein.
