Howdy! My name is Kayla. I'm originally from central New York, but my current homebase is midcoast Maine. For the past few summers and since graduating from college last year, I've been working seasonally all over the place and have had the pleasure of working in Utah, Maine, Florida and most recently in Panama and Costa Rica. My main gig is working for Outward Bound as a sea kayaking and sailing instructor and my side gig is doing trail work during the in between seasons. I love the ocean! I love learning new skills and I'm super stoked to travel around and meet new people. I'm known by friends and co-workers for my signature positive attitude. No matter the weather or how boring a task may be, I like to have fun! Singing, dancing, joking and enjoying the natural beauty of the place that I'm in is my preferred way to spend my time. I'm a highly adaptable and trainable person who is able to adapt well to new environments and makes a conscious effort to join communities with intention. I like to work hard and play hard and I am not afraid to take on a challenge. In my free time, I enjoy all outdoor activities like rock climbing, paddling, backpacking, swimming, bike-touring or sailing. I love creating things whether it be sewing clothes, making jewelry, or learning a new craft. I make an effort to make sustainable choices in my life and try to minimize my impact on this planet. By facilitating experiences in the outdoors I hope to help others to foster a connection with the outdoors and inspire them to protect our wild spaces. I love learning about different ways of life and learning new languages. I strive to bring good energy to the places I go!
