I have aspired to travel alone for a long time now to work abroad and mainly to improve my English in the hope of meeting many cool people.

Hi,
I'm Karla, 20yo and I see myself as an independent, open-minded, volunteer person who loves to try out new things. I am currently in a preparatory class for engineering schools which keeps me well busy. As I've always wanted to travel alone across different countries to discover cultures from all over the world, I think THIS is the perfect way to do it and spend my summer holidays while improving my English.

I was lucky enough to travel with my parents throughout my childhood (mostly in English-speaking countries), which got me used to new environments (like in a van, in a tent, outdoors…) experiences that have (I think) made me more open-minded and adventurous. Travelling and discovering new things has always been one of my greatest pleasures. I would love to exchange more about these experiences and french culture.

I grew up in the countryside (southwest) of France and was always surrounded by various environments like mountains, nature and the sea, which is making me happy and want to see more of the world.

I hope to have the chance to share precious moments with my host and people I will meet on my road, and obviously to see more of this wonderful world.

Fun fact: I am hard of hearing and wear hearing aids, you don't have to worry it will not change our communication :)

I mainly want to improve my English but I also would like to learn Spanish for a long time now, but unfortunately, I haven't managed it yet. But I am interested in learning any language I get the opportunity to. In return, I could teach French or a bit of English. As French is my native language.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have a diverse background of work experiences in farms, Assembly-Line work, house renovation, babysitting and child animations.

-My parents and grandparents were vegetable farmers, which used me to pick fruit and vegetables and live with farm animals. So I've always been surrounded by various animals at home also and already experienced during my childhood looking after animals, cleaning up sheds, weed control, planting, picking vegetables, making firewood lawn mowing, composting, ...

-I've already done corn (french terms: Castration du maïs) and wine picking as a summer job

-I also had the opportunity in my school career to experience Assembly-Line work (metallic part of aircraft)

-My parents have bought an old barn that we have to renovate with wood and sustainable materials to make it a livable house, I help them in every part of the construction it was very interesting.

-My mom is an unrivalled cooker so do I (haha joke) yet I can cook and do like to prepare nice meals and cakes.

-I currently live in a student boarding school, so I'm quite used to life in society (laundry, dishes, cleaning, ...)

-And finally, I have already Babysat kids to 3 at 6 years old and do animation for kids 14 to 17 years old.

I consider myself quite manual and adaptable thanks to all my experiences, which allowed me to deepen this quality.

I speak French and I’m at an intermediate level of English (would also be willing to teach French to someone), I can also understand a little Spanish.

Was noch ...

I’ll love to share activities and common things with the host and above all will respect house rules. I love discovering new sports and hobbies, even though I already like dancing (I've been dancing for 7 years), CrossFit, hiking, skiing and any water sports. I'm a person who always sees what can be taken in pictures around her, very curious and likes being stimulated.
But I also like to chill while watching Netflix or reading books. Sometimes I'm a bit shy at the beginning, but it leaves quickly once I'm comfortable.
