Hello and welcome to our Workaway profile! Our names are Jack and Jordan - we are a couple from South-west England who have been together for over 6 years and have recently got engaged, yay! We are a very active couple with a wide range of hobbies, interests, and passions. Jack is a fully qualified carpenter with 5+ years of experience, whilst Jordan has 5+ years of experience in the marketing industry, and multiple years of hospitality experience.

In November 2023, we made the bold move to leave our careers and start our world travels by jetting across the globe to South East Asia. We travelled for 3-months through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, and absolutely loved it! This trip was a once in a lifetime experience, and we took full advantage of that by saying yes to everything, and embedding ourselves into all the different cultures.

After Asia, we travelled to Canada, where we began our 18-month working holiday on a hobby ranch in the Canadian rockies foothills. Duties included caring for the dogs, garden work, carpentry work (fixing fences, flooring, building garden boxes), painting, and baking. We had such a great experience with our workaway-family and have been able to stay in close contact ever since. After this, we lived in Banff, Alberta for the remainder of our time in Canada, getting jobs in hospitality, travelling across the country during our time off, and spending our free time snowboarding, hiking, running, swimming, and camping. We both fell inlove with the slower-paced, mountain life. From this experience we have been able to take a step back from the hussle and bussle of life, and evaluate what is really important to us.

We planned to start our travels in 2020, when COVID put a stop to this, we decided to put our savings into something else and brought our first home together. The house was in need of complete renovation which we did practically all by ourselves and are very proud of the end result. A little bit more about us: Jack grew up on a cattle and pig farm and this is where we currently reside when we aren't travelling. Jack therefore has experience working with farm animals and equipment. We both love animals and co-share a sausage dog called Bonnie with Jordan's mum. In 2025 we ran our first ever marathon in Vancouver, participated in our first cross-fit/hyrox events, and summited many mountains. We practice yoga and weight train weekly. Jordan loves meditating and sound bath therapy and would love to get into this more. We love cooking and baking fresh healthy meals. We avoid ultra-processed and chemicals in our foods. We like to use natural and chemical-free skincare products. Jack is very passionate about rugby, he has played for as long as he can remember and loves watching it. Jack has also already spent a year living and travelling in Australia in 2018, before we started dating. Jordan also loves history, podcasts, reading, and audiobooks.

We plan to move to Australia in January 2026, and would love to start it off with one or two workaway experiences to get a better understanding of where we would like to settle.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Jack and I brought a home together in 2021. The house was in need of complete gutting and renovating which we completed pretty much all by ourselves. We did our own gutting, planning, brick work, building work, carpentry, decorating, project managing, and garden makeover. The only work we didn't do ourselves was the plumbing, electric work, and plastering. We loved this project and learnt a lot of skills along the way, and are really happy with the outcome of our house. You can see our progress on instagram @another.reno

Jack is a fully qualified carpenter for a building company with 5 years experience. Prior to this he also worked as a labourer and landscaper for 3 years, so he is very handy with the tools and building works. Whilst in Canada, Jack worked as a server and bartender.

Jordan has 5+ years of experience in the marketing industry. Alongside this she has also worked in multiple hospitality roles, including a server, bartender (cocktails), and barista.

Was noch ...

We both love being outdoors and staying active. Whether this is walking, running, cycling, snowboarding. Jack plays rugby. Jordan loves animals. We both are very competitive when it comes to board games - we love chess, scrabble, and others. We love to travel.
