Hiya,
We are Jo and John, a couple from the UK, both 30 years old.

We have decided to take a year out of our usual work routine to have an adventure, learning about sustainable living, nature, and other cultures.

Jo is a trainee organic farmer with a keen interest in foraging, permaculture, seed saving, circular systems, agroecology, and regenerative practices. She has hopes of developing her own farm one day. She has over 3 years of organic farming experience in paid and unpaid roles.

John is a civil servant in nature conservation and planning policy, with an interest in restoring habitats, woodland management, and sustainable building. He is a whittler of spoons, plays music, enjoys outdoor sports, and recently became a Charted Day Skipper Sailor. He has previously worked in Hong Kong as an English teacher and is now trying to learn new languages. Cooking for others and sharing recipes is a passion of John’s.

We will be in Greece and France between May-July 2023, and in Australia from September 2023 – April 2024. We are looking for a place where we can help contribute, learn, and enjoy.

Our ideal place would include:
– Somewhere social with communal spaces to connect
– Somewhere with a private room we can re-energise in
– Somewhere we can be creative, helping with cooking and any creative projects
– A supported and empowered space to learn and collaborate with our hosts and other volunteers

What we can offer?
- Jo's a social media and graphic design whizz and can help promote, share, and give advice where needed
- John is a keen photographer and is keen to capture and share moments
- We are both fit, healthy, and hard workers who will get stuck in diverse tasks
- We can cook well and love sharing recipes
- John is trained in basic construction and home DIY
- Jo has a wealth of practical knowledge about growing veg and caring for the land
