Hey there! :) My name is Jess and I am backpacking abroad to Europe from Australia! Recently I have done some travelling around Asia and now I am looking forward to journeying to Europe as I have never been before. I intend to do many Workaways on my travels and learn lots of skills along the way, particularly in permaculture and off-grid living. My dream in the future is to live 100% sustainably, off-grid and deep in beautiful nature amongst the birds and wildlife. In the meantime, I am discovering and exploring!!

I am very passionate about nature and love always being outside in the fresh air. In my spare time you can find me reading... LOTS, gardening or walking in nature in my neighbourhood. I also love to cook, especially hearty soups or curries! I am mostly vegan/vegetarian but enjoy eating meat on some occasions.

I don't have any experience in carpentry/building but I am always willing to learn and try out new things. I am a dedicated worker that always brings my efforts into the tasks in front of me while also recognising the importance of time to relax. My values are living in balance with Earth and to treat all with devotional reverence. I believe that everything has consciousness so I think it is important to be mindful always of my surroundings. I enjoy learning about energetics and holistic practices such as breath work and meditation.

I am looking forward to meeting like-minded people, to share knowledge and create heart-felt connections with people! In advance, I am so grateful to meet you!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have previously studied a Bachelor of Outdoor Education in Australia. This course involved learning lots about Indigenous knowledge of nature, ecology and practical experiences including bushwalking, canoeing and rock-climbing. I have commenced studying a Bachelor of Climate Science and Adaptations however this was put on hold once I decided I wanted to do more travel.

I am very passionate about gardening and cooking. I have my own veggie patch at home growing things such as beans, tomatoes and lots of herbs. I would LOVE to learn things such as fermenting or herbal medicine making.

I love to get dirty in the soil when doing anything hands on such as harvesting, pruning etc. I am eager to take on any and all tasks whether big or small. I always ask questions when I don't understand!

I love animals and I am fascinated in understanding their nature. I have a very close relationship with my fathers dog, his name is Teo. I have recently undergone a six month mentorship in breath-work. Through this process I have discovered so much about myself and really learnt to slow down and indulge in the sweet nectar of the present moment. I am still very much on this journey and understand that there is always more to uncover. Its all about the journey, no destination!

At home for work I am a barista, so lots of early mornings for me. I have also had previous experience working in restaurants and bars. Just recently I have started to help volunteer in my community making meals for the homeless.

I enjoy being physical and moving my body by either running, dancing or yoga sometimes.
